There is always someone prettier, someone smarter....and someone with a worse diagnosis. That doesn't mean that what we are going through doesn't matter. We had breast cancer. It's not something people want. What you're feeling is absolutely and completely normal. You're not alone. Let us know how it goes...in two weeks it will all be done and hopefully you'll be good to go for another year!

Beaglelove, scan anxiety does hang on; for some it lessens over time and for others it is then before every year and mammo. As Kathabus said your reaction and concern is absolutely normal. Hugs to you and hoping you will be one for whom the anxiety lessens over time.

That's a good point Kathabus it will be over in a couple weeks Thank you

Besides mammograms, I have to get regular CT scans for another cancer I had. I find it helps to think of all the scans as routine maintenance, like getting an oil change for my car.

I strive to be more like Alice! Just want to say I think it's normal, as I have it too. It starts about the same time too. Around 2 weeks or a week out the anxiety begins. I gotta be where? What test? Am I going to pass or fail? Two births, a tubal ligation, a UTI, bronchitis once, and a few sinus infections. In a nutshell that was my medical history through 55 years.

Hi Beaglelove, Some doctors just don't think before they speak! I'm sorry to hear about your possible PV. During Covid my 2nd mammogram was different and I went to another facility. I was anxious, but everyone there was very kind. I only shed a few tears when I got back into my car. Thinking of you.

Thank you all for responding it made me know I’m not the only one. I think cancer can make you feel so isolated. Last year I would run to get groceries or something and count everyone I passed thinking of the stats that 1 out of 8 will get BC i have stopped that at least. The worst health issue I had until BCwas my tonsils out!

I had appointment with my BC surgeon and a scheduled mammogram then US and determined the nodule I felt was a oil cyst due to surgery and was benign. I was so relieved I also have yearly MRI so will have that in September. I’m so grateful for all the support, encouragement and advice given on this site It will be 2 years April 1st... yes I had surgery on April Fools Day and wished it had been a terrible pran
