ILC matastasis

Options

I am so afraid... my wife just had dental appointment and they discovered a lesion on the top of her roof mouth.

She had been on hormone treatment and had a mastectomy 7 years ago. She just stopped the hormonal treatment in November.

I am deathly afraid that if it's metastasized to her mouth she may have a short term prognosis I'm scared any thoughts

Not sure I've ever heard of mets to the mouth. If you Google (I know, not usually recommended!), you'll find so many causes for mouth lesions that are NOT cancer: cold sores and canker sores being the most common. Heck, I get mouth sores if I eat too much hard candy or tomatoes or several other things.. Please don't stress over every little common thing that her body does, it will rob both of you of enjoying life.

It's not likely to be mets. It would be really rare if it was. It's hard, I know, but try not to put the cart so far ahead of the horse. What's the follow up, did the dentist say what it might be? recommend a biopsy?

Sorry you are so worried! I agree with the others though that it is more likely due to other things. I do hope your wife is seeing a doc to at least have it looked at. If it helps I have a large white ulcer type of sore on the tip of my tongue and ongoing ones on my cheeks - due to a medication though as Alice said food items of various kinds can cause these kinds of things too. Please let us know what you find out regarding cause.....

That would be a very unusual presentation. Honestly, it's best to get it tested/biopsied and don't let your mind speculate ahead of time.

And even if worse comes to worst, stage 4 is treatable - not *curable* but treatable and many treatments can buy a fair bit of time. Let us know what happens next!
