Taxotere permanent hair loss???

to all those who have been or are on Taxotere-

Does taxotere really cause permanent hair loss? For those who have done Taxotere, what was your experience??

    6-10% experience significant permanent thinning or loss. There are several threads on this topic that may give you more information.

    Nisha, No problems so far. Hair is growing quickly and very thick. I'm 4 months PFC.

    I did four rounds of taxotere. I am 14 months post final treatment and my hair grew back exactly same as before. Thick and straight. There are women on here though whose hair did not grow back unfortunately. I think it’s something you just don’t know whose will and whose won’t.

    Hi Nisha, I did four rounds of Taxotere and my hair is growing back thick and really (I mean really) curly. To me it seems a bit slow but I was used to having long hair. I was pretty bald the four months after my last treatment so I can honestly say that it grew 4" in about 8 months. I'm currently taking an AI which also causes hair loss and thinning but I've tried to counter it with Biotin pills.

    thanks guys! It’s a scary thought knowing that there is a possibility of permanent hair loss even if it’s a low percentage.

    I am one year post Taxotere and my hair came back fast, thick, and very curly. It was straight before chemo with a little wave in back. Best of luck to you!!!!!

    The hair on my head came back just fine. My brows and lashes are sparse though and it's been 6 years. I got my brows microbladed this past January and it really helped. Unfortunately my random chin hairs came back like normal too!

    Two years post treatment with Taxotere and my hair came back noticeably thin on top and I have that "chemo patient" look unfortunately. Eyebrows are virtually nil and eyelashes are pretty short. I've always sported a short hairdo pre-cancer, so I'm fine keeping it extremely short. Not having the same hair has been a little soul crushing honestly.

    My crown hair is also quite thin from Taxotere, and my eyebrows are sparse. I use minoxidil foam, which is helpful. I also take biotin supplements.

    Six rounds of Taxotere and I have permanently thinned hair on my crown and no eyebrows to speak of. Hopefully it's no the same for you. I wish I'd done my research and not been told "it will grow back."
