Type of anesthesia?

I'm scheduled for a lumpectomy and sentinel node removal in 3 days (on my birthday!). I've had complications before from general anesthesia. They said they will discuss with me the options - has anyone had this procedure done under "conscious sedation"? I'm getting increasingly nervous in general about the whole thing. Thank you.

What type of complications? I am a surgery Rn, I don't think I would do it under conscious sedation. there is anesthesia called total IV anesthesia. You might ask about that. Good luck.
