Simple mastectomy no reconstruction.

Hi Ladies I have a question for those of you who had a simple Mastectomy or double with one side prophylactic. I had BC 6 years ago and had a double mastectomy with reconstruction and quite a long recovery. Now My 72 year old MIL has been diagnosed with Stage 1 2cm triple negative BC rt side . I suspect she is going to have a mastectomy and hope to bypass radiation.

How was the recovery?

She is wondering how many days she should have someone stay with her.

How long you had drains and if you could maintain them and take care of your own needs?

She also needs to get her second covid shot is is wondering how many weeks after surgery she will feel well enough to leave the house to schedule that.

She trying to decide if a double is a lot harder of a recovery.

If you could share some insight that would be so appreciated.
