Hi girls, back from the trip. Janie, Nancy, Mary is just as cool as she comes acoss on these boards. My friends also thought she was "all that." Mary, Nathan wore the Illinois t-shirt Tuesday as it was so warm in Chicago (boy did we luck out). It was so cool to meet you. I hope you're having a great time where it's warm. It was great learning more about your family (what an accomplished bunch — except for that leaf-burning thing).

So, we lucked out on weather, got to do almost everything we wanted to do. The only drawback was when I got stuck (by myself, luckily) in the elevator at the otherwise great hotel. I was stuck in there about 30 minutes. Luckily, the stupid thing hadn't moved at all and I was really just stuck on the lobby level. I probably wouldn't have been so calm if I'd been hanging on the 22nd floor....

J&N, glad to be back to "see" you guys, too.

So yesterday afternoon I whipped down to Ekalaka which is only 40 miles from Baker to pay my REA bill--Electricity. My ranch is between Baker and Ekalaka and the power plants are located there. Anyway, it was a beautiful, but cloudy day and I just had on a short sleeved t-shirt. I was driving back @5:15 and it started to thunder and rain which quickly turned into sleet and small hail and then it turned into a white-out blizzard. It took me about an extra hour to drive the rest of the way home which should have taken about 15 minutes. It was VERY hard to see and by the time I got home there was about an inch of snow on the ground. WTH???? It wasn't even predicted. I'm telling you that some days I feel that I should just stay in bed. Today was my grandmother's birthday. She passed away at 99+ years of age in 1985 and she always loved red roses so every year on her birthday I take a single red rose out to the cemetary and visit a while with her. Here I was thinking that it was going to be all nice and sunny and no snow to contend with this year. SIGH. I had to scrape a layer of ice off the holder before I could put in the rose. Double SIGH. Well, I gotta fill out some insurance papers for prescription reimbursement and then hit the hay. Too many babies at daycare today--I'm a wee bit weary. Nite all--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Hi girls, Nancy you have a time there. I do know what you mean because March can bring any weather at any time so you have to be prepared. It is indeed warm here. Janie, hows it going? P.J. did you get to see Lincoln? The room where Mary Todd is with the sick child dieing is too sad. Well I am glad you had good weather for your trip P.J. I thought your friends were very nice. Your female friend looked so familiar. I just kept thinking I know her but she must look like someone I know. Someday I will remember who.Well I am tired so better get for now. Goodnight ladies, Mary

Nancy, your weather is too CRAZY! Glad you got home safely.

Mary, we did get to the Lincoln library and tomb (my friend, the power shopper, dropped 80 bucks at that gift shop). It was very cool. You're right about the exhibit with Mary Todd in her son's room. Really, her whole life was so awful. Makes you really feel bad for her. Nathan loved the holographic guy.

Mary, what's DH's status? Did he give 2 weeks notice? Are you soaking up the warmth?

Janie, so is everything budded out down there? I came home to warm weather, budding trees and monster allergies.

    Hey ladies,

Loved the picture. It is cold and windy here today. Dropped to 36 this morning after being in the 80's a couple of days ago. I am fine. My oldest (son) has been sick for days -- sinuses, cold, fever, the works.

My middle child (son) was talking to the director of the facility where my Dad is (assisted living with alzheimer's unit) the other day. She said a lady brought her mother there to live a few days ago and kept looking at my Dad like she knew him and he looked back like he knew her. She asked who he was and where he was from. It was Patrick's kindergarten teacher from back home!

I have been working at home today. Did 14.5 hours Thursday (6 of them at home after hours) due to a pushy teacher jumping the gun and getting a piece of paperwork signed before the required meeting, putting me under the gun to finish my evaluation/write-up in only a couple of days. Each eval takes an average of 10 hours. I was not a happy camper. But now, at least that one is over. However, there are many more where that one came from, just waiting on me, and of course, everyone wants theirs first.

Having a good basketball weekend. TN men won their first tourney game 121 - 86. Hope they can keep up the momentum. Lady Vols play tomorrow.

I am sure you saw where Tykerb was FDA approved. We now have an ace in the hole.

Have a great weekend. Stay well and don't work too hard.

Hey Girls, Janie my daughter told me about the the tykerb. It is great to to get more ammo. Sorry to hear your son is sick, it is going around and it ain't pretty. Oh lord, I am not photogenic at all. I have the big, surprise eyes too. I always have my eyes closed in pics so I wanted to make sure they were open and they are....I have squenty eyes(cat eyes) when I smile or laugh, family trait so I try to not smile too big. I did really enjoy meeting up with P. J. Well one more day and I go home Mon. Hubby is home today and tomorrow with the dog. She is so homesick for him all the time so I know she is enjoying sticking to him like glue. Saw Wild hogs today and it was really good. Gotta get. Hugs, Mary

WHOO--WHOO--Liked the picture so much that I actually put the new color cartridge in my printer so you'd both be the right color instead of blue like all my other pictures have been coming out!! I've had a new cartridge for a couple of weeks now, but had no reason to change it until now. I put you guys on the side of the mirror above my computer. I'm getting it so surrounded by pictures that pretty soon it will be a collage and no longer a mirror! I too have been following the progress of Tykerb and chatted with my onc about it last week. One more thing to smile about. I registered for the Montana Women's run in Billings on May 12th and the Komen Race for the Cure in Helena on May 19th. That should get me ready for the Sara Fisher run in Oregon in June and the Relay for Life in Glendive in July. I'm thinking of getting some new shoes this week and start breaking them in. Now that the weather has improved I can start taking my insane dog for walks again. I just need to start getting off work earlier so that I can have time to get home and get a walk in before it's pitch black. My sister and brother don't like me to walk after dark out here all alone in the country because they're afraid I'll get attacked by coyotes, bobcats or that stupid mountain lion that people have seen in the area. I think my dog would run off the coyotes and bobcats, but I actually saw the mountain lion last Spring and he, she or it is rather large. Big Cat. So the weather was so nice yesterday that I drove up to Glendive just to get a book from the library and so I could get a mint Oreo blizzard from DQ---YUM!! I'm still on a campaign to gain weight because I got yelled at by the nurse in the onc's office when I got weighed on Friday. SIGH!! I told her that I eat fattening food all the time and she didn't believe me. I just don't stand still long enough for the calories to stick or something. Oh, well. I have to go up on April 9th for some more tests and then if all goes well--I don't have to go back until September--That's a long way off and I could potentially gain a few pounds in 6 months. One can always hope. I'm going to go out and wash my jeep. I turned on the outside water today to run a hose across the yard and out thru the fence to a small trough for the sheep that are in the front pasture. They had a little buck lamb get with them last Fall and Tom though he was too little to be active, but he already has 3 little lambs that were born this past week and about 6 more ewes that look lamby so I guess the little guy had all the equipment he needed and he used it!!! I laughed at him because he told me that I was the only one that let my bucks get out early and get with the sheep. HA HA HA Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Holy Cow Nancy Lee. You are a go getter girlfriend. I think thats great! I am so sore from all the walking we have done this past wk. I really need to get out and walk as soon as the weather permits. We saw the Body exibit today and it was totally awsome. The embro part was very enlightening. They even had 3 slices of boob with B.C. Well we are going to eat and I better get going. Hope everyone had a great wk. end. Mary

Mary, I'd really be a go-get-er if I could just remember where I left-er!!!!!! I went out and washed my jeep and darn near froze my arse off. My poor fingers were frozen so I jumped in the shower and stood in there for a goodly long time. The jeep looks great--I haven't washed it since last August so it was pretty grimy. I just finished putting my tax stuff all together to take in to the accountants tomorrow. Last year looks dreadful all printed out. I keep all my books for the ranch on Quickbooks so it was just a matter of printing off some reports, but I had to edit some stuff because I put in comments to amuse myself that I don't think the accountants would appreciate!! I sometimes think that I shouldn't be allowed to fill in memo lines--I get carried away. Well, gotta take a sleepy pill and go to bed or go to bed and take a pill--that works better!! Hey Girls, Nancy, I wish I could find my mind but I forgot where I put it half the time. Well I heard about how exercising helps to keep your cancer from returning. I told my hubby who is home for a Dr. apt. that I can't do much excercising because of my neck but "we" could walk and do some stuff. He said he doesn't have cancer so he could coach me. I said "I Don't Think So. What I HAVE To Do YOU HAVE To Do. It states that in our marriage license. I can't find that document at the moment but he just has to take my word for it. He doesn't feel he can ride a bike anymore. Frankly I don't think he can do much of anything any more but he will try if I kill him making him try. He can pain med up and we shall go. I say that like I really want to and I do but I know what kinda pain my neck can cause just turning wrong but I can try. Oh well, we will see. We haven't decided where we are going on our little vacation, somewhere cheap, but we do know we are taking the dog. Hubby is sooo attached to her and her to him! Nothing has ever attached to him before, not even me! It is errie. Oh well, we are taking her. She is so old people dog, thats what we would call my mother in laws cats. They were strange, like scary strange and we called them old people cats. Well now thats us, old people with a strange dog. I wonder if our kids call us strange, hummmm, yep they do. My daughters tell me I get things mixed up some times but I think they do and blame it on me. Thats what I am sticking with anyway.Makes me feel better. My sis in law(hubby's sis) had a b.c. scare while I was gone. She called me shook up but after a second sono they think it is a cyst. They want to check it again in 6 months. I think I would of seen a surgeon because they thought mine was too and tried to drain it but the b.c. center surgeon knew right away what it was. Oh well, I can't very well go aginst her Dr. I will sugest that to her in 6 months if they aren't sure. We are having lunch this wk. so maybe I will ask who her Dr. is. Hey Janie whats up? Getting all rested after your trip P.J.? I thought of jumping in the truck and running to Texas with hubby tomorrow but I have so much to do and figure out where we are going on our trip. I haven't figured out why we are driving. Thats just a big fight waiting to happen ya know? His driving and my b*tc#ing. This is going to be fun, all we need are 3 screaming kids in the back seat and it would be the "good old days". Thank God for the G.P.S. because that cuts down on the getting lost and asking for directions fight. I got him a shirt in Az. that says "If a Man Talks In The Desert Where No Woman Can Hear Is He Still Wrong?" I love it and he will wear it because....he just will. Later little ladies, Mary

Mary--I swear that I'm chuckling my head off after reading your post. I can't afford to actually lose my head because although I don't seem to have a brain in there half the time anymore--I do need it to see where I'm going!! I just posted on my Remote thread--I am SUCH a featherhead at times that I have trouble recognizing myself. Chemo-brain still rages on with me. But all my friends say it's "endearing". YAH--they're just trying to make me feel better for being such a scatterbrain. Jeez--I forgot to take an Allegra today and I just had an 8 sneezes in a row attack--WTH?? Anyhow--thanks for the laugh-- Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Oh, Mary, I need to get one of those shirts! Hey, the planning is the most fun part of the trip! Oh, not really, I had a great time on mine. Probably because it was just the moms and kids (and my friend Doug as tour guide). You could do what I did: find the cheapest flight and then plan your trip from there. (St. Louis was 128 round trip for us and then we just took off to Chi-town from there). Probably you wanna go somewhere warm, huh?

Work's been predictably crazy this week and Nathan's school is driving me nuts. I think we'll change schools for next year.

Hey to Janie (school's winding down, thank god) and Nancy (hope the weather's being kind for once. have fun with your cute little babies).

Hey girls, hope Janie is o.k. Where u at girlfriend? Dr. said hubby needs to be on strong pain meds. and stop driving a truck. I don't know what he will do but he has until Easter but it may be sooner. He was driving to the Dr. today in Springfield 28 miles and was in pain and I said how you gonna drive on a trip to who knows where and do who knows what; who knows when and not be in pain, lets fly to Vegas. Oh no he can do it....Then when I have to drive because he is in pain and I speed, yea; I get in a hurry and he doesn't want to pay a speeding ticket. S*r#w him and his dear money, I have my own. See then theres when I get tired of waiting on traffic and jolt out in front of people who are just as hasty as I am he gets scared. I am a good offensive driver. Hubby thinks I am trying to give him heart failure. Hey, I love it when he just shuts his eyes to snooze and I hit the brake just enough to startle him. Then I play it off as the car in front of me and when he shuts his eyes again I do it again. This time he says maybe he should drive because he can't get any rest. Does anyone wonder how we have stayed married? I do too.... Geez I better get and fix some food. I am getting hungry. Later girls, Mary

I've been reading the Elizabeth Edwards thread on the Moving Beyond forum. Some of those ladies just echo the thoughts that have been running through my mind all day. You know that I really believe in my doctors and what they tell me, but events like this with someone who was diagnosed originally in 2004 too kinda make every little ache and pain seem more ominous. I need to get some sleep. This isn't a good time to sit and think. I need you all to tell me to snap out of it. Maybe a nice hot shower and bed. Nite all--Life is Good???Smiles NancyLee

Hey, Nancy, snap out of it. It is jarring to see the news about EE, I agree. Just hold on to the knowledge that for you, right now, life IS good. It doesn't mean it is also going to happen to you. But if it did, you'd pull yourself up and beat the cancer back. You've proven your mettle already.

Hey, so, finally I guess I was a persistent enough parent. With a whopping 2 months left in the school year, Nathan is being moved to a classroom with a much better teacher. Better for him (and me), anyway.

Hope you all have a good one. Mary, did you decide on your trip yet?

Hey girls, Nancy Lee, you should know that we all feel a little edgy with EE's flair up. I think it is normal for us to be a little scared. She also had a good size tumor from what I have read because she had to have chemo before surgery to shrink it. We all had smaller tumors. There are some who fight bone and liver mets for years. I mean some can fight it for as long as 15 years. There are those whos don't come back at all but we all know what a beach it is when it does(poor P.J. does). Hubby just called and he said he heard EE had invasive cancer. Yea, who knew he was listening and even understood. I gotta get but we will all pay attention to our bodies and find anything bad before it gets really bad. Mary

    Hey girls,

Again, I posted last night. Again, it ended up in Neverland. This time, I think I forgot to push all the buttons. I am fine. Been super busy working on a project at work. Happy to say the results were phenomenal. Hope the little guys can retain what they learned.

Celebrated my 61st bd yesterday. Did not have much time to think about it. They announce birthdays over the pA system at school. The kids I was with at the time guessed me to be anywhere from 25 to 99. I think I will give the 25'vers bonus points. My kids took me out and the celebration continues with plans tonight and tomorrow.

    Have a great weekend ladies.

It is all song titles and it is nice, kinda depressing though. We have more but I was tired and came home. I am not feeling real well right now. Stomach cramps so that can't be good. Mary--We all had smaller tumors???? I wish. Actually, I don't belong to that club at all. When I first discovered my lump in Feb., it was the size of a BB. When I had the mammo in March, it had doubled to the size of a pea and one week later when I had the biopsy, it was even bigger. By the time I saw the oncologist and surgeon at the beginning of April, it was the size of a marble and by April 22nd when I had my surgery, it was so large that it was visible as a bump on the top of my breast. So I never even had the option of a lumpectomy because the thing was going to be a baseball if they left in there much longer and had tendrils that reached out from the sides of it into my ducts. It's a good thing that I had the whole breast removed anyway because they didn't know about the Paget's in the nipple until it went to pathology. SO, I guess I'm in the "good sized tumor" club. Anyhow--I drove up to Glendive today to get some Relay for Life packets for my team and to take some books back to the library. It was 70 degrees and sunny today--Just beautiful--The little lambs were out playing in the sunshine when I got home--I played catch with my goofy dog for awhile--We went for a walk last night and he wanted to go again tonight, but I was too tired. Isn't it awful about the dog and cat food recall? I checked all my cans to make sure I wasn't giving rat poison to my poor pets. I feel sorry for the people who lost their pets. I'll bet someone gets sued before this is done. Janie--Happy Belated B'day Sounds like you're having a good time. Hi, P.J. Life is Good Smiles Nancy Lee

    Good morning all,

Mary, hope you are feeling better and the cramps did not turn into anything worse.

We went to the Robert Osborne Film Festival again. The movie was quite good. I was sitting there thinking. Boy! Sleepless in Seattle stole a lot from this movie. Then my son reminded me later that they talked about An Affair to Remember a lot in Sleepless in Seattle, that is why they were to meet on top of the Empire State Bldg. etc. Duh Janie. Marni Nixon, the one who dubbed Deborah Kerr's singing voice was there. She is now 77. There were questions from the floor at the end. Someone asked her to sing. She sung right on the spot, a cappella, and her voice is still beautiful.

It has been a good weekend. Hope the Lady Vols win today to top it off.

Everybody enjoy this great weather. It is supposed to hit 88 here....that may be a little too "warm."

Janie, my grandson and I ate at a greasy spoon the night before so there it is. In the medical field that is caused by people not washing their hands after going to the bathroom and messing with the food. Oh well, everyone have a great Sunday. Oh, Sorry Nancy, I must of forgotten your bio. I don't know if I think anything really matters as to why the cancer comes back because it is so ramdom and doesn't seem to matter what the prog., it just comes back when it wants and in who it wants. It is warm finally and the sun is out. What a nice surprise. Mary

Wow!! It was 75 here today. Talk about global warming!! I put the battery charger on the pickup and got it going and hauled my trash to the junkhole and then the crazy dog and I went to town. I went to the house in there and loaded up my lawnmower, weed-eater and my FitnessFlyer. Tonight my back is a little sore--Wonder Why?? Heh, heh. My dog actually was a little calmer today than he has ever been riding in the back of the pickup. He must be getting old or it was just the heat that made him behave. I unlocked the daycare to make some copies of my Relay for Life stuff and left the keys in the door and the door unlocked. Wow!! My cleaning lady called when I was just getting back to the ranch and told me that she had found them. Good thing I live in a small town where people take care of me and my chemo brain. Janie, I do carry my Purell hand sanitizer. I am really careful with shopping carts and magazines in Dr. offices and public places and the door handle out of a restroom. I always use my Purell. I looked at a couple campers today, now theres a sentence I would never thought I woud ever say. Gosh, my hubby better appreciate this because I do not like to camp but I guess a nice camper won't be too bad. I hope I can get a sleep numbers bed in it. Hubby will probably think up new ways to "redo" it so we may be "This Old Camper On The Road". Dear Lord what have I gotten into. I really do not like snakes or big bugs or dirt or not having my own shower. My Hubby stayed in a friends camper once and fished then stayed the night and woke up with a nest of baby snakes on the floor in front of the door and he couldn't get out. He is scared to death of them too. He would leave me in the dust (and he did once) if he saw a snake. Better get. Hugs, Mary

Mary, where are you going in that camper? Have you seen the movie RV yet? Perhaps you should rent it before you go. Get some tips....

Well, my mom and sister are coming down Thursday (Mom's closing on a house here on Friday). Naturally, it's supposed to be awful weather - storms.... And from Dallas to here, one rides on a plane about the size of a bee. Glad it's not me. Hope they don't get too delayed.

Anyway, we're finally getting rain, which is wonderful. Hubby got all the herbs/tomatoes planted the other day, so things are looking great.

You guys have a wonderful day today!

Oh My, that makes me hungry P.J. I can't wait for tomotoes. I will be planting soon. I think the frost threat is gone but you never know here. I don't think they have the plants in to buy yet. Our rainy season is upon us. We just got rid of the mud from snow now it is mud from rain. I put a rug on the floor of my car to keep the carpet from getting so muddy. Boy, if ain't one thing it's another. It is however warm for a few more days then we drop in the 50's. That will feel like freezing after 80. Wow, I wouldn't want to fly a puddle jumper in a storm either. Your poor mom. I saw R.V. and yep, that would be us except we would have a tarp on one side where hubby would be putting in a room addition, without instructions or any carpentry knowledge what so ever. I have a baseball game to go to tonight out of town(oldest grandson pitches for the high school) and I don't have much time between picking my grandaughter up and when I have to leave so better go. Mary
