SGAP Flap Reconstruction

Wondering if anyone out there has had the SGAP Flap reconstruction. Looking for the good, bad, ugly and beautiful on having it done. Any other info you may have would be awesome also. Thank you.

    Yvonne - go to the search option and put in SGAP. You'll find lots of posts.

    Hi Yvonne,

    I had something similar, it was an IGAP. They remove fat and skin but the lower part of your bottom.

    That was back in around 2009 and 2011. I had both sides done separately. It was hard surgery, in terms of pain, discomfort etc, but the results were worth it. I had a few complications and needed a blood transfusion the first time, and felt like I'd been run over by a truck. Spent a week in hospital and came out on crutches because they nicked my sciatic nerve, but that calmed down over time. The results are fabulous. The second operation was similar. I had a few breathing issues afterwards and was on oxygen and a nebuliser for a few days, but then recovered well. Each surgery was around 10 hours. Once I came out of hospital, I just took it easy but was up and around a little bit and making good progress every day.
