Hello! My relief of finding a group of such wonderful women is great, I've been browsing topics etc. all evening. About 3 weeks ago I developed a “rash" (it resembles 3 small raised ovals on my breast to the left of my nipple area and down the sid and one random one mid breast) it's severely itchy, I ended up just recently calling my doctor because I noticed these spots are now thickened and plastic feeling (not sure if it was from overly itching them off and now they're trying to heal) and my nipple has been itching off and on as well but I have my first appointment tomorrow with my OB to see what they have to say. I have horrible anxiety over it I have a 7 month old who is breast feeding so I know him grabbing, pinching and scratching can cause irritation in itself but these have not gone away. I guess I'm just more curious at the point did anyone's rash present as blotches like this? Or was it more of a redness that got worse? I don't mean to be a bother to anyone I'm just super nervous for my appointment after Dr.Google ruining my whole brain process! Thank you in advanced.

Skin issues (just like anyplace else on your body) are generally just that-skin issues. Among other things, fungal skin infections (just like athletes foot) on the breast are really common, probably more so in breast feeding moms. “Severely itchy” sounds like a skin issue too.

Ditch Dr. Google. I’ll bet your real doctor tells you that whatever is going on is no big deal and gets you fixed right up with some cream or maybe some antibiotics. It may take a while to clear up, so don’t expect instant results

What Melissa said. I'm prone to skin irritations in all kinds of places and I always have athlete's foot cream around. I can't remember the brand name because I use an off-brand, and you should definitely check with your doctor first, especially since you're breast-feeding.

I’m back again! Did 3 weeks of a steroid cream to minimal help! Now I have to have a lunch biopsy and ultra sound although my OB swears it looks nothing similar to IBC.

I’d believe my OB. Hope your tests clear things up. Sounds like you might need a dermatologist

Oh- I thought Jeni was going to make a derm appointment? Jeni - Melissa is right. And Alice. If in fact you did see a dermatologist, it's time to go back and ask what to try next. An OB is NOT a skin doctor and she has told you it's doesn't look like cancer. Head for the derm expert, and let them do the biopsy if necessary.
