But Geraldo, recalling the Capone safe caper you're a pro at "getting it wrong"! That's your forte!
-
Will sleep better after reading this.....
-
Trill, you’ve provided a lot of information for us this morning. Slimey, slimey Geraldo. Saying that Trump’s craziness over losing the election “revealed a dysfunction I had refused to see.” Omg. Geraldo CHOSE not to see Trump’s psychotic ways and enabled him because Reps were in the power seat. Now pos Geraldo is doing damage control to his brand. Trump’s reign ushered in an epidemic of enabling entitled white male behavior.
I feel like the Rep Senate and House members have blood on their hands.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff memorandum offers some reassurance. I heard it's unusual for them to issue a joint statement. I saw a brief story on NBC today by Tom Costello, and he was showing the build up of troupes in DC and there was even a picture of many National Guard members sleeping inside the Capital building! Costello said he's lived in DC for 16 years and this is the greatest show of force he's seen, including post-9/11, and that those who've lived there even longer say the same thing.
What I'm noticing is Trump and Ivanka's incestuous relationship as these events unfold. Seems more on display than ever. She's almost constantly with him and it's like Melania is the child, left behind at the White House being babysat by photographers. Mel can't be too happy Ivanka is Trump's #1 woman right now. And how does that relationship between Jared Kushner and Ivanka work when she's so head over heels devoted to Daddy? Really, it can't be good.
That comment by Madison Cawthorn saying, “feel free to lightly threaten your congress person saying I'll come after you if you don't support election integrity”is so hideous to hear. Why bother teaching anti-bullying to school children when once you're an adult, it's apparently perfectly acceptable.
Those rioters saying they got “caught up in the moment". So sick of that excuse! They were thrilled to get caught up in it. Do some/many get off on it? You bet! Sick, sick, sick.
Anti-vaccers will pay the price for their folly. No sympathy there.
Love that Pompeo canceled his trip overseas because European officials refused to meet with him. Anything sinking in your pea-brain, Mike?
Wow, Trill, the meme of big Bubba holding a gun, getting all that government assistance...that says so much!
Jamie Raskin. My heart goes out to him! He has been through so much the past few weeks!

I can attest to Costello’s statement. I’ve lived in the city 64 years. We had the riots when MLK was assassinated, the Vietnam War protests (I had to skirt that to get to the building I worked in), hundreds of marches and protests, most recently a peaceful BLM protest that became a riot because trump wanted a photo op, and inaugurations and state funerals and it would be safe to say that the combined protection for those probablydoesn’t come near what they are planning for next week.

Kathindc, love hearing your personal assessment of show of force in Washington.
It sounds massive. No here’s what really worries me. I read the inauguration schedule and that day, Joe will take the Amtrak train from Wilmington, DE to Washington. What? A two hour trip, couldn’t the train or its tracks or whatever be blown up along the way by insurgents? I know he always took Amtrak to DC as a Senator, and took the train back to Delaware on his final day as VP. But doesn’t that sound like omg, you’re giving white supremacists 2 hours of train track to start Armageddon.

Divine, that's scary that that info is out. Let’s hope it’s a decoy. If it isn’t and they're smart, they'll find another way to get the Bidens here.
Love the fact that Airbnb have cancelled all reservations in the DMV area for next week.

Most true happiness comes from one's inner life, from the disposition of the mind and soul. Admittedly, a good inner life is difficult to achieve, especially in these trying times. It takes reflection and contemplation and self-discipline. -William L. Shirer

The Covid test came back positive.

I'm not stunned much by anything after the last four yrs. but seems to me the Reps. that had to go on lockdown on the 6th. ( as well as many of the Reps. speaking at the Impeachment hearing ) seem to think that all that happened on the 6th. was not really meant for them, ( the Reps. ). They are making the same tired excuses with the same tired rhetoric. Now after 30 yrs. they have discovered unity. Even if that is truly what they think might save their hides, they encouraged their commander-in-chief to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted it, that resulted in massive dis-unity.
Too late now -- you have gotten pretty much what ya'll all wanted for a very long time. You are still a bunch of spineless cowards and you talk loud in the hopes you'll convince yourself of your worthiness to even have an opinion. While the orange buffoon wouldn't hand you a bucket of water to douse your head in if your hair was on fire. About 140 pathetic adults and that is just my opinion.
-
Divine -- I'm so sorry to hear that. Hoping you have the lightest case on record.

You girls are GOOD, Hah! And they DID it! Two times now, being impeached.... will it get him gone? Like today? My Daughter just called to tell me.... We are all so happy!
-
Divine, sorry to hear your test was positive. May you have a very mild case.
-
Divine, Hope your symptoms diminish and then disappear. Sending healing vibes.
-
Devine, hope it’s a light case, easy recovery
-
Aw, Divine, am sorry to hear this! Sure hope you have an uneventful road to a speedy recovery!! But at least today holds some good news--the Donald has been given another boot on the rear end, sending him off TWICE into presidential no-man's land------> ImpeachmentVille! And for a return trip!
A record that will live in infamy!
-
Jackie, thank you for that sweet wish.
The impeachment was so necessary! Imagine people of the future looking back on this time and seeing that absolutely nothing was done about Trump’s inciting the insurgence!
One of the best parts of the impeachment...not having Donnie tweeting about it every thirty seconds, inciting more anger from his radical base. I am so happy the bastard had his Twitter account closed for good.
The rioters never feared being recognized because, in their delusion, they did not think they would fail in “taking back their government” that day. They had no problem not concealing their identities because they thought they were going to be hailed as heroes. They thought they were going to parlay their part in a successful coup into tv appearances, elected office and whatnot. They all wanted bragging rights and proof that they were there that day. Assholes
-
Divine, I hope you have an easy mild case and are feeling better very soon.
-
I posted before I saw everyone else’s healing wishes, thank you all so very much!
-
Hey Divine.... You take it easy girl.... My oldest Grand-son called, who works in a Hospital, and he was telling me about yes, the virus is REAL, but so many of the cases, WILL get better with home care... taking into consideration, any other contributing factors! I just pray for a mild case with you, and that you can take care of this withOUT going anywhere! Well, maybe to Walmart, or the Dollar Store.... kidding. I will worry with you, but you just relax, and do all the stuff we all talked about.
I'm taking care of my ribs.... too! I was told to take Aleve, instead of Tylenol.... And my little heat bags that I made really help also.
I'm just so happy that the rump has been tossed again! I just wish he was damn gone! Love you girls!
-
Divine, the good news of the day is the 2nd impeachment, the bad news is positive test results. Fingers crossed for a mild, quickly resolved case. Take care of yourself.
