Weight gain and puffy face

Hi there!

I know this may seem trivial all things considered, but just wondering...I gained 12 lbs on the 4 rounds of Cytoxen and Taxotere. My face/eyes still look puffy though I finished chemo December 10 and haven't had a steroid since December 12.

Does the puffy face go away? Does the weight go away? My eating habits didn't really change and I typically stay about the same. Very weird. I walk and have walked 2-4 miles the whole time and drink plenty of water.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Hi! I took the same cocktail of chemo drugs for the same period of time, almost at the same time. I gained overall at least 15 lbs, probably more and now I am battling lymphedema in my left hand and in both legs and feet. It's gotten a tiny bit better but shows so signs of letting up. I suspect your swelling will go away eventually but it will take a lot of time. I read somewhere on the net that it could as long as 16 weeks for the effects of Taxotere to go away. You should ask your oncologist if there is anything you can do to help things get back to normal. Good luck!

Justducky thank you for the input! It’s not a huge deal in the big scheme but kinda adds insult to injury! I’m sorry you’re dealing with lymphodema! UGH! Did the lymphadema start or result from radiation??

Has your hair come back? Mine not yet - I’m almost 5 wks since my last treatment.
