Hi! I'm stage 4 & newly relocated to Central Coast. Love the beach (any beach-esp. Bug Sur; but have gone as far south as SanDiego-typically stay between Santa Barbara area to Ragged Point), after COVID of course, love Hearst castle (only been once) theatre, movies, Disney, zoos, crafts, Pokeno, MahJohng & golf (true beginner to last two); puzzles, board games, watching karaoke (too shy/bad voice), wanna try: horseback riding (on beach of course), stained glass, glassblowing...I feel like life stalled last March and my days are numbered I have huge bucket list—love to travel (but sometimes Med-related pain limits my mobility-just go at my own pace). Don't drink; but ok with others who do. If you share interests; I'd love to begin a small group 4-10 who'd like to meet about once a week (outside I hope-esp due to current Covid restrictions. Thx!

Hi Bailey, I am not in SLO but I do love that area! I grew up in the Bay Area and we used to drive down there once in a while. I have a huge bucket list too - mainly involving travel (on hold for now due to covid but am starting to make some plans!). Hope you find some bc.org peeps close by to hang with, sounds like a good plan!

    Hi Aprilgirl1:

Thank you for your reply. Thx for the encouragement to start our group. We have similar status cancer-wise as mine recurred ~10 Yrs later and spread to lymph and lungs.
I do also Love the Bay Area drove from SanDiego to north of San Fran via Big Sur (correction to “BugSur” in my 1st post) and back all the way to San Diego via Yosemite in rented RV in 10 days. Highly recommended. This was as a reward for surviving 1st bout of cancer and 5 surgeries in 6 mos... I guess—though it was about a year later. My Recurrence (3+ Yrs ago when I thought stage 4 automatically meant imminent demise-which I know-believe me how fortunate I am to be writing this and feeling so good) that panic caused me to cash in my retirement $$ and take my family of four to Hawaii from Boston for 10 days!
But I’m off topic—we cancelled our March 2020 & Dec 2020 Boston trips & hope to get there soon; but I’m about to just bail out of the fear we are all “living” and head to Las Vegas/Hawaii (if we can afford that) as I feel my days (as are those without cancer as well) are numbered—and we have to really “live” and take chances.
So thanks for hearing my tangent—it’s late and I just saw your post and I typically don’t post but I’ve been rathervoyeristic, I guess, over the 10 years since DX...so back to your post-we love all the SLO beaches and mountains and wineries—just gorgeous. If you should get chance to visit here again they’ve just re-vamped Pismo beach a bit; looks great. Fun people watching, tourists, surfers, doggies, families, bikers, political-types with & without masks all walking the boardwalk and pier—my favorite time is sunset and hour post-sunset...very calming no matter the temperature. Hope your plans take you somewhere fun. I’ve only done one VRBO (private rental site like air bnb); but it’s a great alternative during COVID vs a hotel which is against current “guidelines” stay @ hone orders. So it was our 25th wedding anniversary and my husband suggested we visit my daughter who I’d not seen for a bit lives in SanDiego (4.5-5+ hrs away); so romantic, huh; we forgave 2nd honeymoon someplace tropical and rented a yaught in SanDiegoBay. Wonderful time. Visited SanDiego both like a tourist (zoo, Coronado, Balboa, beaches; but also like a local where my daughter lives is called PB! Felt like a kid again—she’s 21 and we did go celebrate a bit (though I don’t drink). Oh we visited DelMar as well. Carpe Diem-plan something; it feels food to do that; you’ve inspired me to do the same...maybe I’ll start a “2021 COVID Travel Plans anyone? Forum—to share creative safe ways to travel. We’ve done hundreds if day trips/staycations in past year & that’s fortunate where I live there’s so much new to explore—we go in “rides to nowhere” or “adventures” we leave early pack lunch dog drinks snacks and just go—we always find cute little towns and hsve been doing ghat for 32+ years together—so if your not able to travel—don’t actually “quarantine”—just be wise about having a little adventure—hand sanitizer & Lysol wipes in tow. Good luck! Look for my other forum-it may fair well/or bit better than this ine.Healthy Safe Happy BYs to you and to sll
