Worried sick!! 😢
had a routine mammogram after having some spider veins appear on both breasts ..
Got my report today from my health portal and I'm worried sick! Tried loading a pic of the report but it won't let me ..
basically says 1x2 cm lobular mass that could be a fibroadeoma and duct ecstasia .. Suggested that i follow up with an ultrasound ..
The waiting is UNBEARABLE!! I'm so scared!!

Fibroadenomas and duct ectasia are very common, benign conditions, and a recommendation for a follow-up ultrasound is a standard practice when a mammogram reveals something that just needs a better look. In many cases, an ultrasound can get a different and more revealing view of the tissue in question and rule out cancer. Nothing about what you've posted here suggests anything sinister right now. Please don't let your mind take you to dark, scary places. It'll just destroy your peace until the ultrasound is done.

thank you sbelizabeth ... I’m trying not to freak out about it but my health anxiety is sooo bad
-
Ditto everything that sbelizabeth said.
A call-back after a screening mammogram is definitely too early to worry. About 10% of women have call-backs after their mammogram. Approx. 95% of those call-backs are not cancer. In your case, the radiologist has actually indicated what he/she thinks this might be - a harmless benign condition.
Why did you go for a mammogram for spider veins? That's more likely to be a skin condition. Were you due for a mammogram anyway?
Ah, I just noticed that you had started another thread - and the suggestion of a dermatologist was made there. To get the best support, it would be better to stick with one thread so that all your information, and all the answers, are in one place. Otherwise we are commenting with only 1/2 the information.
When is the ultrasound?

I was due for a mammogram anyway .. I did go to a dermatologist that ruled out it was just veins but my dr and dermatologist both suggested that I go ahead and schedule a mammogram.. I almost posted an update on the other but didn’t know if it would bump it up or get lost so I started a new one .. thank you!!
-
Yes, when you add a new post it bumps the thread to the top of the active list.

thank you for letting me know

I had my breast ultrasound today .. waiting on final report from radiologist..
Has anyone ever been told they have a pimple under the of areola?? She said it looked just like a pimple
-
Yes, plugged up Montgomery glands on your areola are pretty common and are, essentially, much like a pimple.
-
thank you! The lady doing my ultrasound said “oh that’s just a pimple”
Still waiting on the final report for the other breast that had the mass
-
just got my final report!! Everything is fine other one tiny cyst they said will go away on its own!! So relieved!!
God is good!! 🙌❤️
-
Congratulations! Glad to hear the good news.
-
thank you!!
