Hi. I’m returning here after almost 15 years because this group was so helpful for me the first time around. I’m not sure what to say besides here I am again. This time I have a loving husband by my side. It helps so much to have bc sisters to talk to. Just had Surg for a perm implant on R and revisions on L. Sitting at home taking it easy...and taking it all in. Thanks for letting me introduce myself...again

c001 and annadou - Welcome to you both and again unfortunately. Recurrence, or new recurrence, is certainly something I believe we all are concerned about, at least at times.... Here the two of you are... and so many years later... it still blows my mind and yet stories like yours are not uncommon on this site unfortunately. I'm glad you logged back in for all the info and support this site can offer! Sounds like you both had positive experiences the first time. This is a great site!
c001 I hope your recovery continues going well... sounds like it has been all right thus far?
annadou Seems you will have a busy treatment schedule. Glad you're finding out about that soon - as you know the waiting can be so difficult. You may want to start your own thread (or begin adding to you old one) if you haven't already. I just logged in so am not sure what else is on the site since yesterday at some point....
I wish both of you well and please keep us updated on how each of you are doing!

sorry you find yourselves here again.
I think at some level I thought ok, I paid my dues, I'm done with being sick .. but of course it doesn't work like that.
Ann, there's a lung mets thread if you're interested; I'm there

Hello annadou. Greetings from Texas.
I can relate to your shock. I felt a lump one day. I had to be very assertive with my doctor just to have her send me for a mammogram. The morning of the mammo, the technician had me stay there afterward while he called my doctor for an immediate referral for a biopsy. I was not prepared, though I guess we never are for something like this.
I am healing well from surgery, and trying to get back into my routine. My next doctor’s appointment is on the 5th for a surgery follow-up.
Please continue to post! I would appreciate knowing how your treatment plan shapes up.
Hugs!

Hi all
Hope you are doing well and thanks for your message
Super sunshine here in Athens I think winter has forgotten us this year
Treatment plan is Ibrance and Falsodex to start fairly soon do I’m psyching myself up fior that. I tolerated the treatment the first time round so here’s hoping 🤞🏽
Take care all

This really sucks for you guys. That's a long time to be cancer-free and then have that insidious disease rear it's ugly head again. I guess that's why we never feel we have totally whipped the beast.
I was DX in 2011 with IDC, Stage 1b, Grade 1. I had a lumpectomy and 33 rounds of radiation. I took Tamoxifen for 5 years. My Oncotype score was 11. 8% chance of recurrence. Looks like the odds are in my favor but I still panic right before my mammogram. I'm pretty sure I will always have that fear factor.
Still what a shock for you ladies. Thing is though you made it through the first one and you'll make it through this tone around too. Best of luck.
Keep the faith.
Diane
