Thin Slices of Joy

Have you seen any videos from the Monterey Bay Aquarium? I've been there in person 3 times. Theiir videos are excellent.

i like Bryan Cranston's new series, Your Honor. They played a song from my youth.
-
Fasting today. It is a feat of strength that I have not broken my fast given we have homemade baklava and cookies. It helps that I see my MO and get blood drawn tomorrow. I might be weighed.
-
Love "I Don't Like Mondays" - the intro, piano and orchestration are superb! Remember what it referenced to (pretty gruesome)?
Had my Dexa Scan this morning. Hope it shows everything is OK. Last one in 2018 showed no change from the one I had in 2016 just prior to my BC diagnosis. Only on aromatase inhibitor for another year and 4 months, so hope the bones hang in there!
-
I never thought I would see a Joy Division song on a thread called "Thin Slices of Joy"!
Congratulations Celia on the bone density, and Serenity on being able to break your fast with cookies and Baklava!
-
Lots of Joy here, including divisional! I visited Monterey Bay aquarium in 1985. I went on my own, was staying with some distant relations in San Jose who recommended it as a day trip. It was one of my best days out ever. I remember watching a tank of anchovies for ages - I was fascinated how they swim together and the way they all switch direction at the same time is phenomenal also the beautiful kelp forest in the bay. Would love to go back there one day.
-
Celia - My roommate introduced me to Boomtown Rats and told me the story behind the song. Gruesome it was. Do you eat prunes? They're supposed to be good for bone health.
YeslamaDragon - Joy Division was a dark band, but I read somewhere that they made songs of miserable beauty. Thin slice, right? 😉
ScotBird - I love aquariums, and Monterey Bay is my favourite. I love the sea otters. I was there just a few years ago.
Glad I resisted the baklava and cookies. I got weighed today! Good news: had another big drop in my CA 15-3! Came home and ate the last baklava. 😁

Crashed after dinner. YT knew I could use something soothing like time-lapse video of blooming flowers.
-
Last delivery coming today! Thought it was tomorrow.
-
What a wonderful voice and an uplifting song.
-
This may have been the first time I heard Andra Day. Love her and Stevie Wonder.
-
This is so beautiful. Pandemic rendition.
-
SerenitySTAT -- loved the flowers video! Thanks for posting. Made my day.
-
Betrayal - I'm a sucker for great vocals!
BevJen - I wish we had smellavision. Those flowers were beautiful.
Many of our ornaments and our tree topper are Father Christmas themed.
Here's one of our first ornaments.
-
I like U2's cover, too.

-
Beautiful song and views of Venice.
-
Words not needed.
-
Merry Christmas thin slice of joy friends!
-
This year's responsible, distanced Lessons and Carols is different, so I offer you one from years past:
-
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! We'll muddle through together apart somehow.
-
Two disparate but great voices.
-
Great collaboration!
Spanish guitar is soothing.

Last night my daughter offered me a taste of her hot chocolate bomb (seems to be a thing). Since I was fasting I declined. She replied, "So is Dad". 😧 He's not as strict a faster as I am. I stayed strong and now enjoying my coffee and cream.
The rain washed away all remnants of snow. Blue skies are shining on me.
While I appreciate seeing the sun shine, having no snow is not normal.
-
We were out of cream. ☹️ Drank my coffee black. Scarfed 2 homemade marshmallows instead. 😁
-
-
Hoping 2021 is better, but it may have a rough start.
-
Having my second mimosa today. Cheers!

On it!
