i read that there is a thing you do when on chemo so the hair dont fall. Ir had tipo do with ice and you're head. I forgot the name but for what I understood you have to have very cold towels in the head. I'm going to look for this post and let you know

It's not towels - it's called "cold cap". There are several brands & some infusion centers support this more than others. It's not cheap and it usually requires a 'helper' as they have to be changed out more than once. Search cold cap.

By the way - sometimes it works & sometimes not. Or sometimes your hair just thins.

Madbarvie, you need a diagnosis and then staging (assuming the mass turns out malignant). Don't get ahead of yourself. The "Not diagnosed but worried" forum is what you want right now.

Book your biopsy and then let us know the results. Hang in there, you can do this!

Your sister may need something else added to her depression meds. After I was diagnosed my psychiatrist added another medication to my meds and it really, really helped.

Madbarvie - I think I'm confused based on the name of this thread. Are you asking for a sister or for yourself? Or do both of you have stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis?

Since you don't have a firm diagnosis or staging yet, this might be more appropriate in a Worried but Not Diagnosed thread. Or do you have a sister with a firm diagnosis?

MinusTwo, I think Madbarvie is posting for the first time about a completely different situation that the topic of this thread.

Madbarvie, why don't you start your own thread in the Not Diagnosed But Worried forum? And to moth's post, don't get ahead of yourself. You have a mass in your breast - that's surprisingly common and usually is not breast cancer. So talking about mastectomies and chemo and cold caps.... you are way ahead of yourself. If I understand correctly, you haven't even had imaging yet, never mind a biopsy. And even if you do end with a diagnosis of breast cancer, many cancers don't require chemo. So take this one step at a time. See a doctor. Schedule a mammogram. Then take it from there.
