Hair growth after chemo
how is everyone else’s hair growth going? Let’s see those pics! Have you cut it? Dyed it? Have a style? Is it coming back curly? Here’s mine. I have my first hair appointment on Wednesday and I’m dying it silver/grey and possibly cutting it. I wanna see

Mine is currently Aquamarine
Which is not the color it grew back, lol!
Hoping it washes out soon though, because i have a really bright red to dye it for Christmas!
Has grown back almost as thick as it was, except for 2 bald patches at the hairline --I can live with that!
Sure wish the hair on my legs hadn't grown back as thick and dark and curly as it had been, though.

I cold capped but still lost most of it. I was left partially bald on top with two straggly rat tails in the back so I had them trimmed off and ended up with a ceasar cut.
I have very fine, straight hair that has a hard time holding a curl and the most my hair was able to manage as it grew back in was a weird partial wave at the tips on the side where I had a bald patch.

yes I am, I bet that aquamarine is so pretty!! How long is your hair right now?
Wc3, that sucks the cold capping didn’t really work. My hair was very fine and thin pre chemo but it’s coming back a little thicker this time

hray - I love the curls in back.

minus two, thank you!! I love them too but they are driving me insane. It won’t do anything. I’m thinking of cutting it like this so the top can grow. This is the exact color I’m dying it I just can’t decide if I should cut it or not. We have family pictures this weekend and I want it to look good

I am 6 weeks since my last treatment and I am getting nervous about permanent hair loss. I have not noticed much growth if any. When did everyone else start to see new growth?
-
I had huge problems with color on the first regrowth. I think it had chemo chemicals in it. It would not take a color properly and instead of blonde i ended up with orange...multiple corrections only partly fixed it. I had to wait to grow it out and cut it again and then the dye took ok. I was at a top notch salon which specializes in color so they had tons of resources but it was a disaster

Ian loved, my hair seriously didn’t start coming back really at all till about 8 weeks post chemo
Moth, that scares me a little... I’m getting mine done Wednesday with family pictures on Friday

Iamloved,
AC chemo blew out my hair after the first treatment and I only had a few strands left by the last taxol treatment. My eyebrows and eyelashes fell out last, so I expected them to grow back last. Well, eyebrows and eyelashes grew back within a month of my last AC-T, and my hair didn’t start seriously growing beyond a stubble until over two months after last AC-T. The hair grew back slowly, but recently, I’ve noticed a growth spurt. It’s been a year and a month since last AC-T and my hair is a shag-like style, which back of the hair about an inch longer than shoulder line

Hray,
I love that short cut with gray/silver color. I’ve seen women wear that color with violet or light blue tips, which look fantastic. Hope your cut and color turns out great
-
hray-I think the cut is gonna look so good!
I am lovedI finished chemo in March, all of my hair fell out a month later and then started growing in! Super curly I love it! I used to have straight hair-I hope these curls stay!

hray1993,
I remember being so worried about cutting even a scintilla of hair off when it took so long to grow in (Herceptin slows growth in some women and it did mine) but I can tell you WITHOUT A DOUBT that you will enjoy a cut more than you can even imagine. I remember feeling like I went from someone who's hair was growing back from baldness to having something that looked like a stylish (albeit short!) hair cut.
I've followed you since you joined our ranks (since I could easily be your mother and have daughters older than you)--it's so great to see your beautiful, smiling face!

Iamloved....don’t worry it will grow. I finished AC-T 8/5/20 and it was about 8 weeks before I started seeing the tiny little stubble coming in. I was so frustrated and worried it was never going to grow. Once I was covered in stubble it felt like all of a sudden I had full coverage. My hair is still short but my head is fully covered. You will be there before you know it

iamloved, I cold capped but did have a couple of bald areas. I looked back at my messages and I didn’t mention seeing new hair growth in those areas until about 7 1/2 weeks out. It was only about a week and a half ago when I noticed a black shadow over my eyes, and realized it was new eyebrows growing in. I was starting to wonder if they were going to come back. I looked every day and saw nothing, and then all the sudden there they were. My hair is growing slowly, but once my eyebrows started growing, they grew fast and look like they are going to thicker than before. My eyelashes are still pretty straggly, but if I look closely I can see tiny baby lashes poking through. I am about ten and a half weeks out. Hope that makes you feel better.
