Waiting to find out what it is
two weeks ago a pink thickened area of skin appeared on my right breast. it was about a dime in size, since then it has grown to about the size of a half dollar piece. I have developed some slight pain in this breast as well, this started yesterday. The right breast is swollen and although you don't want to think the worst......that is where I am. I made an appointment with the breast center and see them on Monday. When going over my symptoms they stated that this was in the same breast they biopsied in 2015. I had to go by my OBGYN today to pick up paper work to take with me and she looked at it. I asked her if she saw anything, and yes she did. She stated she was glad I was going on Monday. That was it. She said that would be the best place to figure out what is going on and how to proceed after. AFTER WHAT? share with me how you found out something was wrong? I got on the internet and I am worried sick.

Kelli, I'm sorry you're worried and sorry you're going through this. A great place to post questions such as this is in the "Not Diagnosed But Worried" thread, where others can chime in to help encourage you on your journey.
I agree with your doctor--the breast center is where you need to get this figured out. I strongly encourage you to stay off the internet. When you google "breast" along with "pink skin" you'll ALWAYS get "inflammatory breast cancer," and you wouldn't be the first to have the wits scared out of them.
Everyone here has had a diagnosis of inflammatory breast cancer, yes, but everyone has a very different story, and no one can give you a good answer as to what's going on in your particular situation. Good luck--SB

hi there,
Just wondering if you had an update?
Going through a similar situation at the moment. -
GeeGee - this is the only post Kelli made since 2015. I'm guessing she got the "all clear" in July and just didn't come back to let anyone know.
Hope you'll try to stay off Dr.Google. He really has lots of bad "inflammatory" information - if you'll excuse the pun. If you haven't called your doc and you are worrying, do make that call. Try to keep busy with things that you like in the mean time.

Hi Minus,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Apologies, I have only just seen this.
I pushed for a referral to see a breast surgeon. He has no concerns about any kind of breast cancer. I am mostly accepting this, but sometimes my anxiety is still getting the best of me.
Trying to stay away from google though.
thanks againGe
