Hello all,

I was diagnosed when I was 44 and after chemo/radiation, my dr said aromatase with lupron would be more effective. I was premenopausal. Five years later, the side effects haven’t been that bad, but now my dr wants to switch me to tamoxifen for 5 years.
I’ve been unable to find information because the switch is usually from tamoxifen to aromatase. Bone scans are fine and I’m not crazy about switching to a new set of side effects. Anyone else been in this situation. Thanks for your thoughts

Its funny I was just about to post about this. I was diagnosed at 35 and after active treatment I was on OS + AI for 5 years. In August my doctor switched me to tamoxifen. I feel the same except that I noticed my hair really seems to shedding a lot more. Also, I think my hot flashes are worse. I also just got my period back after 6 years and it's different from what it was. So that's where I am right now. I hope you are doing ok with the switch.

Another one in the same boat! I'll finish 5 years of OS in March (2 yrs Tam + 3 yrs AI) and my MO wants to switch me back to Tamoxifen only as the OS protocol is for 5 years. I've been on Tam alone before and I think it's better. Hope it's as effective, too.

I'm fighting my dr a little. : ) I already know the AI side effects and really don't want new ones. Don't want my period back, either. Wondering if I should fight to stick with the AI or just listen to the slow, slow research and go to Tam. Or do I even have the option of doing more AI? There really should be more info about this.
