not asking for diagnosis ideas, just to show why it's not so straight forward look and I want it out. There are 2 medical professionals saying 2 different Benign things but agree to 1 Malignant which they both are leaning towards that it’snot but want to be safe.

Can’t read medical imaging. The whole point of biopsies is that they can’t be sure of what it iis, which is more often than not the case with breast imaging. That is why anything considered to have even a 3% chance of being cancer is biopsied and most biopsies are benign. If it should turn out you have DCIS or invasive cancer you will likely have to have a second surgery for margins anda sentinel node biopsy if invasive cancer is found.

Yes he explained that it’s possible more would have to be taken and explained why.

I just know for sanity purposes taking it out would be best. If Core biopsy came back negative, id still worry about what if they missed the bad part. My grandmothers sister (my great aunt) had hers missed and then she thought she was safe until years later and it was so far spread.

Good luck! And good for you that you are taking control of your situation. I can understand the desire for the excision biopsy.

My mammogram was BiRads 4 with a spiculated lesion in late August. I had an US guided core biopsy on 9/30 and the specimen was too sparse to make a determination. So I had a vacuum assisted stereotactic biopsy on 10/7 which came back high risk benign lesion with a minute focus of ADH. However, the initial radiologist noted on his final report that the biopsy clip was placed 2cm from the spiculated lesion (by another radiologist). So it appears the lesion was missed again. So on to an excision biopsy on 11/5 for which I'm waiting on the pathology report. I really wish I had had an option for the excision biopsy as the first option. The BS commented that it's “only a minute focus of ADH so how bad can it be"? I hope she's right.

While I understand the protocol, the waiting has been difficult. When my mom was diagnosed with BC in 1983, the standard was an excision biopsy followed by MX. the time frame from mammo to MX was ~3-4weeks. I've been waiting for 11 weeks since the initial mammo and would like to move on with my life.

Thank you Harley! The wait for the unknown is the worst part! I hope yours comes back Benign as well!

My whole body aches and I can’t tell if I’m getting sick or if it’s stress related. My mind feels like it’s playing tricks on me because I swear I can feel the lump have a little pain but I’ve never felt pain before I found it up until being told what it could be.

I was for sure feeling that weird let down feeling so I gave her a squeeze and sprays across the room the serous colored fluid 🤣 reminds me of when I use to produce milk. In my opinion it’s because it was built up with pressure that it did that.

Jessi - if I remember correctly, people have told you before - STOP poking & prodding & squeezing. You have doctors who are scheduled to do & see things. Leave your breasts alone for now.

MinusTwo, It has been left alone and it was done in front of the surgeon because I was telling him about how the letdown feeling started and he asked to see if anything came out without pressure. Nothing happened but when expressed fluid shot out.

to edit: he tried to express the area himself unsuccessful because like he said “well you know your breast better than I do”

So glad you're getting that part over with! I wish you well with that. Be kind to yourself and find enjoyable distracting things to do during the waiting. Wondering about results will be on your mind too.... normal.... Please let us know once you hear something....

You are likely out of surgery now and hopefully resting comfortably! Hopefully you don't have to wait too long for results...

Took my first pain medicine after about 6 hours after, bleh I’m more sore where they missed my first IV. They had to do it 3 times because I have tiny tiny veins. Plus sick feeling from the pain medication but happy the pain isn’t crazy right now. I find out in a week and I expect good news. I looked at my breast and it looks strange a little maybe from swelling but it’s okay because I’m happy for them to be gone. I wish I could of seen them lol.

I have a better piece of mind that they are gone and I’m not worried about results either way. Chances are good but I know the possible outcomes and if it’s malignant i know I have support!

Today is the the day I might get answers to my biopsy I had a week ago. I know it can take longer. Today marks a week since my excisional biopsy and I have my Post-Op appointment with my surgeon in less than an hour.

    I got great results! Benign!

Intraductal Papilloma and the visible one came back negative for atypical features as a ectatic duct with prominent Periductal Fibrosis also negative for atypical features. Now i get checked once a year as he does want to keep an eye on the area.
