Looks like a bug bite
Hello!
I have a history of fibrocystic breasts and just had an ultrasound at the beginning of the month to check on a biopsy clip/cyst I had biopsied in April.
I am pregnant and had a painful zit on my breast that turned into a small purple dot. Then I noticed that I had a small rash on my breast near my nipple, a rash underneath my breast and another small purple dot. All on the left breast that was the one biopsied.
The small purple dot (not the one that was a zit at first) has now turned into a red bump and I have pain under my armpit but don't feel any swollen lymph nodes.
I just had an appt with my OB on Wednesday and he gave me an anti fungal for under my breast, said he had no idea what the little rash was but to use the antifungal on it (it made it bigger so I stopped but has faded some) and said the red bump looks normal. He told me he's certain I don't have breast cancer.
The red bump really concerns me along with the other changes in my breasts as I've read about inflammatory breast cancer (that he said he's never heard of). I'm freaking out. I have a derm appt on Thursday and plan to ask for a punch biopsy.

Zit or bite-looking stuff is usually exactly that. Fungal infections under the breast are very common.Reality check: if that red bump was on yor knee or butt would you think you had cancer?

dle120, welcome to BC.org! We know it's hard not to worry, but skin and breast changes are very common in women. No one here can diagnose what is going on with your breast, as we aren't doctors, but it may help ease your mind knowing that IBC is a rare form of breast cancer and according to the American Cancer Society, only about 1% of all breast cancer cases in the United States are inflammatory breast cancers. Anyway, it's a good thing you have been diligent in following these changes as even if it's benign, it's always better to get treatment and be safe! Please come back to let us know what you learn next Thursday.
Best wishes,

I'm concerned that a doctor who specializes in women's health has never heard of IBC!
There are a lot of things that can present as a rash on the breast and IBC is one of the less common of those but I think you are doing the right thing by having a dermatologist look at it.
