Ultrasound results - core biopsy ordered
Hi everyone
First time poster - have read so many insightful information but thought I would post my own for some clarity ... From what I have learnt it doesn’t look great ? I am 39
Found lump 2 weeks ago - went to gp who confirmed lump referred for ultrasound
Ultrasound results show
various fibrodenoma and simple cysts
Right breast
5 o’clock - hypoechoic mass with irregular margin 7 x 8 x 7mm
9 o’clock - hypoechoic mass with irregular margin 6 x4x3
left breast
Ill defined hypoechoic heterogenous mass 13x10x9mm. Intrisic vascularity present
core biopsy, mammography tomosynthesis recommenced due to suspicious appearance of left mass

hi! So sorry you’re worrying. Does it have a BIRADS score toward the bottom of the report? That will give you an idea how concerned the radiologist is with what he/she saw. Lots of benign things can have the same qualities as Your masses. Did you go in with concern for your left or right breast?
-
hi taralynn,
it doesn’t have a birads score ? I initially went in for the larger lump on the left beeast -
ah darn, the BIRADS gives good insight. But again, it can be SO many benign things and they say about 80% of biopsies are negative, so please remember that When is the biopsy scheduled?
-
Fingers crossed it’s benign. I am abit of a realist and would rather walk in thinking the worst hoping for the beat haha - but Thankyou it is good to know there is a possibility it’s benign
-
yes definitely a good chance! Fibroadenoma and cysts can be solid and you already have a few of those, so that’s a possibility also. I’m the same way, I’d rather be pleasantly surprised by great news then devastated by news that blindsided me. Good luck and come back to update when you know more!

so I booked the biopsy for 18th nov - only to be told the next day I had another appointment on the 18th. When I called to reschedule the appt the ext available date was the 24th no problem at all - I had a plan!
I then got called later in the afternoon and the nurse said she had passed my ultrasound onto the dr - and she would like to know if I’m available next Tuesday ? 2 weeks before the booked date of the 24th.... so I am beginning to get rather worried - but thinking positively !!
