Quite true though he could have said it without the cigar.

Not surprising that a dead Republican could win an election in North Dakota.......sigh......in that case, perhaps the ghost of JFK Jr. COULD replace Pence as VP. I'd think his ghost would have a little more pep than the present occupant of the office.
The country is surely in a horrible, horrible state with every kind of unstable person being given permission from the very top to act on their deranged urges.
I am curious to see what new debate rules will be put into place. They better start with a Covid test being administered by the debate team themselves and zero tolerance rules for unmasked audience members.

A little relief for a moment.

I appreciate all the great info about vertigo, especially about the Epley maneuver. I started on a course of Amoxicillin, so if it is my sinuses, I should feel better in a couple of days.
On a lighter note, my husband reminded me today that on the night of our earthquake, I was laying on the floor stretching my back out. I must have dozed off, because when the shaking started I sat bolt upright and yelled: "Fuck 2020", before standing up and getting into a doorway.
He thought it was hilarious. But then he's one of those sick puppies who loves earthquakes. He likens them to an "E" ticket ride at Disneyland.

A perfect response when wakened suddenly this year!
Here's what us Northern Girls have to look forward to:

Yes, it’s quite the pity that zi’vr had to waste this NEAD year on 2020 🙁.
Ruth, I loved the meme of trump mimicking the disabled reporter because I have asked myself the same question many times.
Trishyla,
I didn’t grow up in an earthquake area. I felt my very first one in Afghanistan where I was a Peace Corps volunteer many years ago. I have lived in Northern CA for 30+ years. I have a healthy fear of earthquakes but am somewhat fascinated by themat the same time. I will say that if it’s less than a 4.0 I usually don’t feel it.

I've had a blast reading all the memes and quotes and jokes and comments and photos from the Women's March! The Russian witness protection program family made me laugh so hard I had to change my underwear.......thanks, ladies!

Trump reaches out to women voters—-HAHAHAHAH!!!!
-
Yes, Trump reaching out to women voters, meme,,,, LOL!
I lost it with tRump when he a) made fun of the disabled reporter. b) dissed the Gold Star family because they were Muslim c) spoke so badly about women as in "grab them by the Puss*y. " I NEVER liked him in the first place. Never watched the Apprentice. I always thought he was a rich boastful idiot. but the above, made me really dislike him.
My neighbor just called me for help with our local amendments. She is a life long Republican and is now voting straight Democratic!! YAY!!! She said "I knew you could help me understand these, cuz you have so many yard signs".
-
I borrowed the sign with the fish, and put that on my FB page. Early voting in-person starts here in FL today! Tomorrow I have my first shift as a poll greeter, passing out Democratic recommendations for the ballot. We have a lot of amendments and they are confusing. The neighbor I mentioned in my last post, was a legal aide before she retired and she said they were too confusing for her to figure out.
-
glennie, good luck with your poll greeting duties. And always nice to hear of a Republican flipping to Democratic voting!
I loved the fish visual meme

Celebrating a birthday reminds us of the goodness of life, and in this spirit we really need to celebrate people's birthdays every day, by showing gratitude, kindness, forgiveness, gentleness, and affection. These are ways of saying: "It's good that you are alive; it's good that you are walking with me on this earth. Let's be glad and rejoice. This is the day God has made for us to be and to be together." -Henri J.M. Nouwen

I sincerely love starting my day by reading these comments! It makes me hopeful for the future. Keep up the good work

Divine, I love the " End of an Error"., and what a one it has been. In truth, I can't actually say that I gave Trump much of a chance, but I did keep my mouth shut for a while. With Trump that is all one really had to do since he had so many more incapabilities. For the teachers in the group, I put the last word of last sentence in my dictionary -- because it was easier to use and get my idea across.
I'll never understand either why so many silently looked away at all the heinous things that happened during this political cycle. Greed and avarice and just having been on the wrong track already. The Reps. were going bad for a long time -- I think since Regan, but ending up with Pres. Obama for 8 ( to me wonderful ) yrs. just iced it over in an un-believable way. I think the Reps. have cooked their goose and will reap what they have sown which seems like total disaster for me, for the most part. Some will squeak through, but I think they are lost. They don't know how to lead anymore if they ever really did. Not that we are always better, but we are for the little man and we can be highly bi-partisan. Lots of empathy and sympathy and most of us a high degree of willingness to follow science and take care of our alliances. We want a better U.S. , but we also want a better world.

What you get from a news outlet that leans very right.

Yay for the former congressman Joe Walsh!
We saw an excellent national commercial during the Steelers - Browns game yesterday. It features Blind Pig, a fabled Ann Arbor concert venue that has attracted some big names, including Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.
“Everywhere I go, people have a story about the Blind Pig," says Joe Malcoun, co-owner of the Blind Pig, in the new ad. "The Blind Pig has been one of those clubs that attract artists from all genres. For 50 years, the Blind Pig has been open and crowded, but right now, it's an empty room.
“This is the reality of Trump's COVID response. We don't know how much longer we can survive not having any revenue. A lot of restaurants and bars that have been mainstays for years will not make it through this. This is Donald Trump's economy."
The an features the music of The Beastie Boys, a hip-hop group that has never previously licensed its music for a political ad, according to the Biden campaign.

Trump Mocks Joe Biden: If Elected, 'He'll Listen To The Scientists'.
The president apparently thinks that's a bad thing. -
Oh my,,, our very own UF Gator stadium, AKA the Swamp,, has made it to a Lincoln Project video.

Ruthbro - I I hope that crocodile is there to escort Trump out of the Whitehouse. And thank you for the humorous reminder to live life and do the things you love.
Glennie19 - loved the poster about she will never wear the crown of RBG.
Trishyla - it is ok to rant, it does become too much at times. I hope things start getting better.
ChiSandy - you expressed concern that I was not voting for one of the democratic candidates in my state because I did not think she could win. That was not the only reason. I have heard almost nothing about her, maybe I would if I watched TV and did social media. Just too cheap to pay for TV. Also I thought what she had on her website was very weak. I was intrigued by the Independent's position on plastics on how the US should have a leading role in cleaning up the oceans. She wil not win either, the republicans have a stranglehold. I did vote for the other democrats, local and national, some of them will win or are very likely to. I felt a little conflicted about one race. The incumbent has done a lot for the state, but I was impressed by the democrat's postion, and I am furious with the republicans who hold their nose in response to Trump's character and actions, but continue to support him, party first. Trump is a formidable opponent and will crush those who oppose him, but if you can not stand up, don't run for office.
