Nipple discharge/need advice
I have a clear, watery yellowish nipple discharge coming from my left nipple only. It only comes out if I squeeze it. I have had it since I stopped breastfeeding my son 2 1/2 years ago. There is no pain or bad smell. No other symptoms either. The discharge will have blood mixed with it if I keep squeezing my nipple but it goes away by the next day. I did have a mammogram and ultrasound done back in May and the technician and Dr didn't see anything suspicous. They told me verbally that I had a clogged milk duct at 9 o'clock under the nipple but in the report it says I have a mildly prominent milk duct. Also, if I don't mess with my nipple such as squeeze it for a few days to a week I can feel a small area of the dilated duct under my nipple but if I squeeze it and some of the fluid comes out I can't feel the dilated duct anymore. Could this diagnosis be wrong or am I just overthinking it all and should just take the dr's word for it? Should I get a second opinion?

Tawny - I know you didn't get very many answers on the other thread you started, but it would be better to up date there and not start another thread.
Edited to add, I did read your other thread and the advice was good. Don't poke & prod your breasts. For goodness sake - quit squeezing your nipples. What was the answer from your previous doc/nurse questions? And as recommended, if you are concerned - you need to make an appointment with your doc.

It's never occurred to me to squeeze my nipples. I wonder if there's be a discharge from anyone's breast(s) who kept doing that? And would it cause an infection or screwed-up duct?

I have seen my Dr and she gave me a physical breast exam and didn't find anything of concern then I had a mammogram and ultrasound done back in May. They said it was a clogged duct/prominent duct. Before I go back to the Dr for the same thing and my insurance potentially not approving more testing I just wanted some advice or see if other people have had anything similar.

Yeah, I'm weird I guess, lol. I stopped breastfeeding my son 2 years ago and was curious one day and wanted to see if I could get something out. I can get tiny little drops of stuff out of both nipples but there's one duct that has clear, watery yellowish fluid coming out.

So here's the same answer I just posted on another thread about nipple discharge...
If you're still concerned, of course you can go for a second opinion. But in the long run, if you don't trust your doctor, you need to change physicians.

Tawny, has anything changed since you posted these same questions previously? It's confusing that you've started two discussion threads for what appears to be the same problem.
