Hi,

I had a BMX with direct to implants on 9/10. Everything went well. I have started doing my second set of arm exercises (the ones you are supposed to start three weeks after your surgery) yesterday. These exercises are more challenging in terms of stretching the arms over your head etc. Since last night I have been heaving a red, itchy and sore area in my left breast (the cancer breast). It doesn't go away. The itchiness feels on the skin and not underneath, but cortisone cream does nothing to it. I am unsure what to do about it, whether it is normal, or is it a problem that I need to do something about. Of course, the dr is off for the weekend. I would appreciate any input. Thank you.

I go to the urgent care when I don't know what to do. I like them since they have experience dealing with different situations and always suggest treatment. I visited them several times last year after my mastectomy. One time even because of extensive bruising from the IV :)

avivit - I'd call my PS. It's always possible you over-extended on the new exercises and popped some interior stitches. Watch your temperature in case it's an infection - but again, I'd call my PS since you're only 3 week out from surgery.
