Neck lump

That's good news, Heather! I know the worrying won't be over until you get the PET done, but it must feel good to know that all that much of you body is in the clear. And I agree with Elaine, don't read too much into it. It would be fantastic if our docs told us all is fine, no more scans, but truth is that they have no way of knowing it for sure, and it's a good thing they don't want to take any chances. Hence the worrying, but I'd rather have that and cover all my basis...
Yay, Lily! 🤗 🎉🍾

Thanks for the update Heather, I hope the PET super super unremarkable!
-
Thanks to all of you!! I thank God for connecting me with people who have been there, are there, and know what it’s like!

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to share a few songs via YouTube that have really helped me as I wait for tests and results, thought they may help you too! They are truly worth a listen!

I am so frustrated! It has now been an entire week of my oncologists office dealing with my insurance to get approval for the PET scan! Arrghhh! Insurance keeps requesting additional documentation and now the entire week has passed with no scan and no approval! My MO office is doing all they can do, why would my insurance be so difficult!? I know the Pets are $$$$$, however it will soon be a month I have these suspicious nodes/lumps in my neck and we STILL don’t know if they are malignant! This waiting is so discouraging!
-
So sorry to hear that, Heather. I am surprised that it is so hard to get approval from insurance. I am over in Canada and,
while I don't have to deal with insurace, the hard part is the time between appointments. I will see my MO next Friday, a month after the U/S! I hope it will get sorted it out and you'll get the PET done asap. Hang in there!
-
Praise the Lord! My PET scan is finally approved!!!! I should hear today when it will be scheduled! Appreciate your continued prayers for good results!!!
-
🤗 Thinking of you, Heather, and praying for good results!
-
well had my Pet scan today. Tech seemed very serious afterwards...😳 I know I can’t read into that, but it’s so so hard! Then as I’m leaving the office I’m asked to go upstairs, here it was about an appt with a specialist I’ve been waiting for because I had Esophagitis inflammation on my CT scan a few weeks ago....of course I’m like the tech saw something bad light up in my esophagus and it’s not Esophagitis it’s cancer! Ugghhh.....I see my oncologist on Tuesday for pet results with my dh and see dr for Esophagus on October 27th...
-
Ugghh, Heather, so hard to wait some more! My CT neck scan will be next week. But in the meantime the results of the second bone scan came back as all clear! (I am sure you understand how relieved I was... )
Sending you good thoughts and stay strong!
-
praise the Lord! So thankful your bone scan came back all clear!!!!
-
Praising the Lord!!! Pet scan showed NO CANCER!!!! 🙌🏻 I am so full of joy and praise my eyes are running over!!! Thank you to ALL OF YOU for your prayers, support and love!! There was some inflammation in my left lung that could be from having radiation after chemo 2 years ago .just to check on it I will have a CT scan in six weeks! Unsure why lymph nodes in neck are enlarged...possibly virus, Dr is CONFIDENT it is not cancer. I will have an Ultrasound in four weeks to check them out. There is inflammation in my esophagus that I will see gastrointestinal dr for at end of month, possibly also related to radiation ☢️. God has carried me through, and used all of your arms to lift me up!!
-
HEATHER!!!! I am so happy for you! PTL indeed. Inflammation and viruses can cause these but we have to have them checked out and also be taken seriously. I am so relieved for you and thank you for letting us know.
-
Thanks to all of you for your words of encouragement!!!!
-
I am absolutely thrilled for you, Heather! 🤗🎉
-
Wonderful news Heather! I’m so happy for you!!
-
so happy for you, Heather! Praise God! What a relief
-
I’ve been following your initial post Heather and checking in to see if you had results, an I can’t tell you how happy I was to read your good news.
-
Hooray! So happy you got good news

Hi, Heather, I'm finally back with the CT scan results: no adenopathy!!! So the lumps in my neck I so feared it could be mets, they are not even lymph nodes, as per the US results. (My MO said they're probably cysts, so no wonder they showed no fatty hilum.) So, I guess a CT scan is a much more accurate tool?! I am VERY relived for sure! And I don't know abour anybody else, but I need a break from scans! The worrying in between the results has been draining! It's like I lived 50 hard years in the last 5 months!
Sorry if I am a bit intense, especially in the light of good news. I hope you and everyone else is doing well.

wonderful news Rain88!!!

Thank you!

Hi,
I was diagnosed with TNBC last year and had chemo, lumpectomy, radiation and immunotherapy. I was so positive but I am up for yearly scan this week and I am coming up with all sorts of symptoms that could show the worst case scenario. I had severe allergies last year when I was diagnosed and it returned exactly now. So I panicked thinking that mediastinal node which was positive before treatment has come back. The next day I had Hemifacial spasm on one side for couple of hours. I have tingling in my forehead and I am assuming the worst.
I also got hypothyroidism after I started treatment. I don't know if that is acting up.
What kind of symptoms or feelings should we expect while waiting for scan and results.
-
You shouldn't expect any symptoms while waiting for a scan or results, other than general nervousness maybe? You might want to start a new thread, this one is several years old and was about a different topic so people are less likely to see your question.

thank you. Will do
