I have ILC and no rads or chemo but take Arimidex. Anyone else?
Feel lucky I didn't have to do chemo or rads, but was wondering if there are others out there. I do take Arimidex. Thank you.

Hi Suzanne,
I had ILC, had a double MX, no rads or chemo. I too feel lucky. I do take Arimidex every day. Tolerating it well.
-
I had lumpectomy. Clear mamo this month
. Thank you for responding -
Suzanne, did you have node involment?
-
I am diagnosed de novo Stage IV, and I’m on Ibrance and Letrozole with ILC. I did not have a mastectomy, and I’ve had no chemo or radiation. I’ve been on this combo since June of 2019.
-
no node involvement
-
Suzanne - can you go to My Profile and fill in your diagnosis & treatment to date? It would help to see that information.
I thought everyone who was not de novo Stage IV had radiation after a lumpectomy.
-
I think I did that right. Can you see I had LCIS in 2013 and ILC in 2018? I was told it was too small to do radiation. But I am on Arimidex. Thank you Minus 2. I haven't been on this for a while.

I was diagnosed with de novo stage 4 breast cancer whichwas found in 3 neck central lymph nodes following thyroidectomy for papillary thyroid cancer. The pathologist said it was “possibly lobular”. I have had 3 PET scans with no evidence of disease so far, thus no surgery or chemo or radiation, just Anastrozole.
-
Will you be having a yearly MRI? I was stage 1B, but the tumor was 2cm - no nodes. I did have radiation, but have refused the drugs. I thought all ILC patients who have lumpectomies must have the dreaded yearly MRI since ILC usually doesn't show up on Mammograms.
-
jessi, I go to my Dr. for my 6 month blood check for Arimidex. I will ask him then. So far I haven’t had MRI after surgery
-
ILC , no chemo or rads. I did a BMX. Take tamoxifen though.
I feel lucky also. I still sometimes feel guilty. When I said that to my gyno he told me that "you did not ask for cancer, nor for the type, the size, not anything about the cancer. You got what you got. Still is cancer.
