Tamoxifen withdrawal and bleeding

I was premenopausal when I began treatment and my periods stopped after my second TCHP infusion two years ago. I've been on Tamoxifen for about a year and a half and have a thickened uterine lining consistent with that. Initially I had consulted with a gynecological oncologist who said this was nothing to be concerned about unless I developed bleeding.

While I've had nothing resembling a period, I've recently experienced spotting that seems to occur after accidentally skipping a day of the Tamoxifen or taking it later than usuaI. I suspect that this is withdrawal bleeding but I can't find anything that substantiates that.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Hi, My only report would be get more answers and ask many many questions. I was on Tamoxifen for about 10 months after not doing well with Letrazole or Exemestane over the past 4.5 years. I started having horrific night sweats, leg cramps, dried out body completely so when I went for my annual my one said to take 4 more years. No , cannot handle anymore! I've been off for almost one month and no more night sweats or leg cramps but I still have hot flashes. Of course I'm older and post menopausal, so don't know if this helps. As you know we are all individualistic even though it seems we are lumped into only a few categories for treatment.

Take care, & Stay in touch,

    Adina

    Hi Adina:

I had hot flashes frequently when I first started tamoxifen but they have reduced in frequency since then. I tend to just feel less cold than I used to in general these days.
