Breast & Nipple Pain after Vacuum Assisted Biopsy

Hi I am hoping someone here will have words of wisdom to share from their own experience. I had two lesions biopsied over 2 weeks ago. One was deemed an intraductal papilloma and the other a fibroadenoma thank goodness!! The breast dr suggested excisional biopsy for the papillor follow up in 3 months. I am not one to wait and see especially something like this. Does a VAB grab enough tissue to be confident benign? Anyone else in a similar situation? How did you decide what to do?

Secondly, I have constant pain and nipple tenderness similar to mastitis The two incision sites from the biopsy healed well. I don't think there is an infection but wonder if it could be mastitis? My breast hurts just from walking (I have small breast size) and clothes rubbing against my skin or shower hurts my nipple quite a bit too.

thank you for your help!

    Hi Daisyduck,

I am sorry I can't help you with the first question, but after my initial biopsy (which, unlike yours, revealed IDC/DCIS) I too was in pain for weeks and had a similar feeling to what you describe. It took me over 3 weeks to feel normal again, the pain just went on its own. But then I had MORE biopsies followed by mastectomy ! I am also small breasted (B cup). I hope your pain subsides soon !
