Call back after breast ultrasound and freaking out
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 2017 and am almost 3 years cancer free now. I have screening ultrasounds every six months and I just got a birads 0 call back from my screening and I am freaking out. It's the right breast and my last cancer was on the left side so if its something its a new cancer. Just reaching out for support. This sucks

Hi Waytooanxiousmommy.
My understanding of a 0 Birad is simply that the initial mammogram Or ultrasound may not have been taken properly and that another one has to be taken or ultrasound. Hopefully, that is the case. Every test is really scarey and I hold my breath every time hoping there is nothing new. Three years after TNBC is great and I hope to get there. Crossing my fingers and toes for you

I know how scary it is, but remember that most callbacks - something like 95% - turn out to be nothing. And with your history of breast cancer, they are going to be extra careful to take a very close look at anything that shows up.
When do you go back? Are you having a diagnostic mammogram?

Thank you so much for the support. Its just scary though you are right I don't need to worry yet. It looks like they saw a potential mass and want more images. These are the ultrsound results "A masslike hypoechoic lesion at 5:00 position from the nipple in the right breast, for which diagnostic ultrasound study is recommended" Since they indicate its a mass or lesion its worrying me. I don't feel anything in the area they indicated. Nothing scheduled yet. For some reason they called my ex husband and I left a message for them to call me to schedule and so I am waiting.

WayToo - if they don't call today, give them another call. As Beesie says, 95% are nothing. Good luck.

Thank you. I will call them again by the end of the day of they don't call back

December 15,2012 I had bmx. Not a fun time, but it did get me out of a lot of the Christmas stuff and cooking that big dinner. Think of that!!!!

Yes a masectomy does avoid having these follow ups and scares

I had another ultrasound and determined that it was not a real mass but rather a trick of the automated ultrasound. I am good for now. Thank you everyone for the support!

Yay!! That's great news!
