I sooo feel for all you are in the midst of right now. I'm also so glad you are comfortable with your new oncologist, have accurate information now with which to make decisions and a plan for proceeding. We will miss you on the DCIS threads though it is important you are in the areas on this site that fit with what you are dealing with. I wish you the best going forward!!!

Kelly - I too am sorry to hear the revised diagnosis, but glad you did the 2nd opinion. I found it very helpful be join the current month/quarter chemo &/or surgery threads while I was going through treatment. The support was tremendous.

Oh my! This is exactly what’s going on with me-I have very dense breasts, had stereotactic biopsy on August 20, 2020, then developed a golfball sized Hematoma which has remained there ever since (4wks now)... I’m diagnosed as stage 0 (best possible result!), but my surgeon said he will not do Lumpectomy until the Hematoma resolves... I just want this Cancer out of me, and get stared with Radiation Therapy/ Hormone Therapy.

I’m so fearful that the cancer is spreading in the meantime 😟...Yikes!

Anyone else in a similar situation? Thank you and positive vibes to you all!❤️

I had a hematoma after a biopsy. The biopsy was in February and I still had the hematoma in June when I went in for my bilateral mastectomy.

I was in a lot of pain so I wasn't able to do my normal exercises. I bought a trampoline just so I can bounce and feel a bit active. Within a few days the hematoma started to feel better and it went down in size. By the end of two weeks I was able to jump on the trampoline. I'm not sure if that was a coincidence or not but the more active I was the better the hematoma got.

The side I had the hematoma is where I had more complications. More swelling. nothing that will last (hopefully) but I am in need of physical therapy.

I wonder if it's worth reaching out to a physical therapist and seeing if it makes sense to try to massage out hematoma. Or maybe they can give you some specific exercises to do. Again, I'm not sure if that will be helpful. I am just going by my own experience and noticed how I felt better after trampolining.
