Low Grade fever after exchange surgery normal?

Yesterday I had my exchange surgery. And I went from under the muscle to over which is more trauma. Today I have a 99.2 fever. I think this is just what’s called post op fever? I believe I ran a low grade a couple days after my BMX.
Paperwork says to call if fever is over 100.4. Anyone else experience post op fever?

Be sure you are drinking enough water and keep an eye on your temp. I wouldn't be too concerned just yet. Hang in there!

It is frustrating to have a low grade fever and feel like you should be doing something.

My understanding is that the higher fever indicates an infection. If it isn't high, they just tell you that you are fine. That's my experience at least.

Thank you everyone. Fever broke 24 hours later. Just going through extreme itching now. Very frustrated as this PS wants all tape and bandages kept on until my visit on Tuesday. Sponge baths only. I can see blood through the gauze on my side under the tape. I'm no doctor, but I'm a mom and that's not clean. Plus the surgical bra was too too big and rubbed a few abrasive spots on my chest which itch out of this world! I'm ordinarily a perfect patient with a high tolerance for pain and other grumblings. But feel good old soap and water can help cure a host of evils!
