Sunken Tissue expander Help!

I am almost 2 weeks post double mx. I had tissue expanders placed. I get my first fill tomorrow. A couple of days ago both breasts seemed to have deflated a bit. They seem quite sunken in. If I raise my back they seem to fill up again, but I’m a little concerned. I’ve only just started gently touching them and they feel pretty hollow. Is this all normal or is something wrong?

Start - don't poke !!! They fill the TEs slowly so there are of course lots of hollow spaces now. Or at least you hope they fill the TEs slowly enough that you don't have pain with stretching too fast.

And after your first fill if you are really sore, you have two options. Stick it out, take some tylanol and tell them to put less volume the next time. Or they can actually remove some of the saline if it's horrible. I went with slow and steady instead of the large volumes the PS usually used. Good luck tomorrow.

Hi all. Had my left mastectomy on August 4 with TE placement. Had a small non healing area lower incision. I am scheduled for first chemo Monday and first fill Thursday. My question is how long does the tenderness last along upper TE? Not really painful but tender to touch. Thanks
