Comfortable Bra 7 years post-surgery??
I am post-surgery for bilateral mastectomy with latissimus flap reconstruction 7 years ago. I would like recommendations for soft, supportive bras as my scars cause me discomfort. I have trouble reaching around so if someone has had success with a bra that closes in the front, that would be ideal. Sports type bra style will work too. Anyone out there have some ideas for me?

I'd recommend going to the bra shop at a local hospital. The bras may be covered by insurance and they should be soft. They have a wide variety and they professionally fit you.
My insurance pays for 12 bras per year.
My second, unsolicited recommendation, is to look into PT to relieve your scar pain if you haven't already tried it. It might help a bit, or a lot. If you've already done PT, then suggestion #1!

Rosie - I have LE so I wear the Sydney Bra from Wear Ease. It isn't front closing, but you can step into it & pull up. Take a look at their products to see if there's one that might work for you.

Hi Rosie,
I really like the True & Co. line of soft, supportive, no underwire bras. Most of them are sports bra style but easy to get on if you are ok getting your arms overhead and much less restrictive. The ones I got have an extra inch of fabric below the breasts which stays put and havebeen really comfortable to wear post mastectomy.
