Should I be worried - painful bump on my shin bone

Hi everyone!

Haven't been here in awhile but ai am feeling a bit nervous about a bump/lump in my shin bone that is a bit painful to the touch. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2011. Has a partial mastectomy, no nodes involved, chemo, radiation and tamoxifen.

Should I discuss this with my doc?

How long has this bump/lump been there? Is there any associated bruising or discoloration?

I started noticing it a couple of weeks ago and no there isn't any bruising or discoloration.

Rachel,

When I first diagnosed, I was told that anything that lingers more than 2 weeks should be brought to the attention of your MO. So yes -- call your doctor. It may be nothing, so just call.

I agree with Rachel. If it's been two weeks and there is no associated bruising, then yes, it's worth a call to your MO. Fingers crossed that it turns out to be nothing serious.

I think I've seen different people mention that below the elbow or knee is EXTREMELY unlikely to be mets, if at all.

Although i was told when i had ankle pain that mets below the knee was super rare, if its lasted more than 2-3 weeks i would go in for sure! if nothing else for peace of mind
