Any ladies on Tamoxifen in Toronto???

Hi everyone.

I am living in Toronto, so wanna to know whether any ladies or groups on Tamoxifen in Toronto or GTA??? I just started to use Tamoxifen today April 1st after it took me a week of hesitation and just looking at it due to its potential side effects. Apparently I have been through light headache today but not sure whether it is caused by not drinking coffee today or Tamoxifen??

Much appreciated your shared experience regarding to how to manage its side effects. Thanks!

    Hi Tammy

    I am not in Toronto but in the GTA area. I was on Tamoxifen for 3 to 4 month and had no side effects really maybe hotflashes. But due to my breast cancer spreading to my lungs I have opt for a stronger medication. I took it at night just before bed. I read it takes time for you to really know how your body will react to tamoxifen. Good luck

    Hi pippy1963,

    I have been on Tamoxifen for more than a week and there is no side effects really, maybe just light headache and a little bit fuzzy head after taking it around 1-2 hours. Since I also take it at night before bed, so apparently it doesn't cause any problem for my work days. Sometimes, I feel tired and no energy without any reason but it doesn't last long, just a couples hours. In general, I am feeling well and healthy. I guess my body is reacting to tamoxifen slowly and hope that there is no serious side effects at all.

    By the way, I am living in North York and working in downtown.

    Hi I am not in Toronto, but in Hamilton. I have been taking Tamoxifen since February. The first few days, I took it in the morning and had slight side effects. I now also take it at night with a light snack and outside of the occasional hot flashes, no real issues. Good Luck to you!

    Hi rush1187,

    I'm glad you don't have serious side effects from Tamoxifen. I have been taking it since April and so far, I can say that I haven't seen its side effects, except it made my period come late (my cycle lasted 43 days after I took it). Hopefully, I don't have them in 5 years. Good luck to you, too!

    Hi Tammy, I am in Waterloo area so not quite near Toronto. I am on tamoxifen for 2 years now. I also take goserelin injection monthly to suppress my ovaries. I had stage 2/3 breast cancer in 2018. So for the side effects of the medicine, I have a few. Keep in mind that this medicine takes a while to show it’s true side effects. Mine are weight gain (4-5 pounds), hard to loose weight, vaginal dryness, hot flashes. I also have some really good side effects such as no excessive body hair (I do full body wax twice a year compare to every 2 months), my period related migraines are gone, beautiful skin due to no pimples at all :)
