DIEP and Oopherectomy

Has anyone had an oopherectomy before DIEP? I am scheduled for an oopherectomy on 8/25 and it occurred to me that might not be a good idea before DIEP. The Dr. was not in and the nurse said "should be fine". I googled it and found a site that said it is preferred to do the oopherectomy after DIEP, but a problem would be rare. I don't want to postpone this again, I'm having a really hard time with the Lupron and AI, I need a change. I probably won't have DIEP until January.

    My DIEP was before my oopherectomy and my plastic surgeon preferred it that way. He said that sometimes during the oopherectimy, the surgeon will cut the blood vessels that are needed for the DIEP. Maybe your the surgeon who will do your oopherectomy can take care to make sure that doesn't happen.

    I had my oopherectomy during DIEP. Their reasoning was that I was opened up anyway and it only added 20 minutes to the surgery. I liked the idea of one less time under anesthesia

    Thanks for the info. The nurse at my PS still has not called me back, I've been calling since Monday.
