Condolences to the Nagy family. Trump is responsible for so many deaths

When I see someone smile, I know immediately that he or she is dwelling in awareness. This half-smile, how many artists have labored to bring it to the lips of countless statues and paintings? I am sure the same smile must have been on the faces of the sculptors and painters as they worked. Can you imagine an angry painter giving birth to such a smile? Mona Lisa's smile is light, just a hint of a smile. Yet even a smile like that is enough to relax all the muscles in our face, to banish all worries and fatigue. A tiny bud of a smile on our lips nourishes awareness and calms us miraculously. It returns us to the peace we thought we had lost. -Thich Nhat Hanh

I so would like to find some memes, but I'm home so late today and exhausted. I too ( I did put one in re: lieu of flowers ) put one in yesterday. More people as of late are wearing masks at our Walmart but not enough. I did find out that this past Wed. they had to close the Moose and scrub it down because someone with covid had been there. I've no other details, but I told Dh -- I'm not going back. I can make taco's better than theirs so I'm not going in there for awhile until I can feel it is okay. I think we lucked out ( I hope ) but no one there was wearing masks. It is the bar/kitchen area, but seems that is not a TRUE excuse other then you have to be un-masked to eat.
We have done well here in our little area, but I think not so much that we didn't get some covid but I think it was discovered and traced and dealt with properly when found. So I still worry. Anyway, I may be able to come back later.

Love that meme Serenity.
and I say we talk about this if you live Gohmert. Your Dr. ( please excuse my freshness ) is ignorant ignoring the fact that hydroxychloroquine's efficacy has been tested several times and found lacking -- in other words, no good for covid patients. Good Luck.

I think this could be a possibility:

In my dream state of Democrats winning the Presidency, House and Senate, I imagine these people being appointed to the Cabinet and Cabinet level positions. Makes me feel warm all over.

From the "Progressive Cabinet Project":
"Special Note
Some readers may notice the absence of Senator Elizabeth Warren, a leading progressive and architect of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, in this list to be peculiar. This is because Data for Progress fully and unequivocally endorses the selection of Warren as Vice President in order to give the party's progressive wing representation at the national level. Should she unfortunately not be chosen for the position, she would certainly be the best choice for the role of Secretary of the Treasury."

That's creepy but probably true.

Love the memes and the Cabinet project very much. I have felt for a long time that while Biden ( age and the rapidity with which health can change ) is not the perfect candidate he is the one most likely to be able to get elected. For that reason I've long felt he will pick a GREAT team who are highly enthusiastic about rebuilding all we have lost.
As well, I do think of Biden as ABLE to know his limitations and would help and totally support a FINE candidate after his first four yrs. are done. As things stand it seems at this rate that the Reps. party will be in such shambles as to be mostly decimated. I'm thinking it is possible that they will not be able to re-gain meaningful footholds for a couple of cycles. I sure hope so anyway. They need to get real and get over the white nationalist stance that has passed for Trump. Time will tell.

There is no true and constant gentleness without humility; while we are so fond of ourselves, we are easily offended with others. Let us be persuaded that nothing is due to us, and then nothing will disturb us. Let us often think of our own infirmities, and we shall become indulgent towards those of others.

Just want to say that I proudly cast my vote for Pramila Jayapal in our election.

I am eternally grateful to my dear late mother for spelling my name Caryn (even if it sounds exactly like Karen when you say it 😉).
-
Having read so many of your posts over the past couple of years, Caryn, I can confidently state no one would ever mistake you for a "Karen". That being said. I do like your spelling better.
-
Thanks, trishyla! My mother was so convinced that I was going to be a boy that they had no girls name! For trivia fans, Caryn is Whoopi Goldberg’s real first name 😊.
-
Both DH & I have a sister by the name of Karen. They are not enjoying their names at the moment!!

Love the 'name' stories. Definitely it turns out names can take on way too much baggage at times. I don't have a 'name' story other than I was given the name Jackquelyn. Okay -- un-fortunately when my Mom had me neither she nor the nuns at the hospital knew exactly how to spell the name. I will say there are a number of spellings. So -- it was spelled Jackolin. Pretty phonetic if you ask me. I spelled it above the way I always wished it had been spelled. Thought of changing it but never did. I'm going to be 75 next month and I guess I'll hang in there just like I am with the spelling I've always had.
