I hope I’m not duplicating a thread. I was just wondering what kind of advice people have gotten from their ROs concerning sun exposure, 3 month, 6 months, 1 year and beyond..

I was told no sitting/laying out in the sun by my RO. I only went to the 3 month follow up and never went back. I wear sun screen of course. Beings I am working at a beach cottage now, I am finding that I do not like the sun. Not like I used to, and not to sit out for hours on end. I change colors quickly, and I have been wearing a t-shirt over my suit even sitting under the umbrella. I keep it short, as I do like those rays getting the Vit. D into my bones! I bought a new suit after treatment that comes up higher on my chest as to not expose any of my treatment area to direct rays.

None of my doctors said anything about it, but it would make sense to cover that area up, which I do religiously. I've been burned enough, I don't need anymore there!

I was told by the nurse that I need to use sunblock in the chest area when it’s sunny for the rest of my life.

I’ve been wearing a rash guard instead (the shirts that have SPF30 built in).
