Institual Lung Disease

Hi friends

I was diagnosed with triple Negative Breast Cancer in 2018. Had chemo, lumpectomy and radiotherapy and I had a CT Scan in May 2020 after months of chronic cough and a chest infection. The CT Scan had revealed Interstitial Lung Disease.I have a chronic cough for over twenty years which was apparently related to seasonal allergy by my GP although it was all year round. There was already minimal Instiual Lung Disease when I had my very first CT Scan in 2018 and the recent CT Scan is showing a little more damage as a result of chemo and radiotherapy. Experiencng shortness of breath which was noticeable last September around three months after my radiotherapy treatment. I am beside myself with worry about the recent prognosis. I have been referred to see a thoracic consultant when everything gets back to normal with Covid 19. I am worried in case the lung disease will be progressive. I wonder too whether the longstanding chronic cough caused the minimal ILD damage in the first place. I would be very grateful to hear from friends who maybe have had the same problem after radiotherapy treatment.
