Diagnosed almost a decade ago (in my early 20’s) of fibrocystic breast disease. After a surgical biopsy, I was told I was riddled with cysts. I’ve never been worried about them, even though breast cancer runs in the fam (stage 4 inflammatory, but on paternal side). A week ago during an exam at the gyno (who I hadn’t been to since my biopsy), she found a lump that concerned her. Yesterday, I had my first mammogram followed by an ultrasound. The radiologist came in w/a worried look. He said here was a growth that was not cystic, rather it had mass & a blood vessel. The tech told me “positive vibes!”, which is totally me. I’m scheduled for an ultrasound guided biopsy.

Do you have a copy of the imaging report? The description and BIRADs rating will be helpful in understanding how concerned the radiologist is.

    When is your biopsy?

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Well, I didn’t ask nor was offered the images. I guess I just was kind of taken a back that it wasn’t a cyst as expected & wanted to get out to my husband for a hug. But, my biopsy is next Wednesday, so that’s good!

Thanks for for the well wishes & will update asap

Love your quote, BTW! Burke is one of my favorite of the “great thinkers” :)
