drainage after mastectomy's

My mastectomy' went well but the drainage following the surgery has continued for 5 weeks/ Radiation will take place after the drainage stops. Has anybody had this experience

Sienna - I had one side that lasted 4 weeks and another 5 weeks. It's better to get the fluid out than have it pool later.
