How much are you paying for Lupron?

Options

Ladies on ovarian suppression, I'm wondering how much you pay for your Lupron shot? Are you getting the monthly shot or the 3 month one?

I don't have to pay for Lupron until next year, when my maximum out of pocket amount starts over again. I couldn't get an answer from my insurance company about how much it will cost me, but my understanding is that Lupron is very expensive...I'm worried I'll be paying thousands of dollars a year for it.

    Hello,

Im a 31 year old who forfeited my health insurance offered through my employer to get enrolled in the Breast and Cervical Cancer Insurance Program through my state. I have been on it since the beginning of my 5-10 year journey with Lupron +Arimidex.

My former Physician Assistant was once a social worker and told me about it. Its a program (tier of Medicaid state insurance) that cover health expenses for breast and cervical cancer patients. Its for patients aged 65 and under.

It covers my primary care and specialist visits. I dont have any copayments. Ive never paid for Lupron and only pay to buy the name brand Arimidex through my FSA (through my employer).

Its run by the federal government https://www.cdc.gov/cancer/nbccedp/

Here is the link the website for the program in PA that can explain how it works in my state. I know that in my state the programs runs in two phases; A detection program and then prevention and treatment program. I got my insurance at the beginning of my treatment and did not have to show proof of income, in fact I renew it every year and proof of income is not required. This is because there are no income and resource limits for this program.

My choice of physicians and specialists have not changed at all and I go to a large university based research hospital for my cancer care.

Feel free to PM with any questions.
