I'm 64 and went in for my routine screening a couple of weeks ago. I haven't heard anything from my dr. or the facility, but had an appointment with my internist today and she saw on the hospital portal where they need more imaging because of a lesion on the top left breast (chest wall). I had a a biopsy there years ago and that lesion shows up on imaging and was done at a different facility. Could they be seeing that?

Hi Wildflower1117, and welcome to Breastcancer.org!

Others will be by shortly to weigh in with their thoughts and experience, but we'd suggest you call your doctor to clarify what is needed, if anything. We'd hope that if there was more imaging needed after your screening, you'd be notified, but to be safe, it's best to contact your screening doctor to see if that information is accurate.

Please let us know what you find out!

Make sure this facility has all your prior breast imaging studies.

I got the letter that says I need more imaging with a possible ultrasound. The soonest they could get me in was in a month!
