When does it get better?

I'm on round 14 of 16 rounds of chemo. The first 4 were AC and then 12 rounds of Taxol. I'm having one of those days where I'm just SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED. I haven't had more than a handful of days in the last 5 months where I felt good. I will be done in a couple of weeks but until then I can expect to be tied to the bathroom because of my constipation, extremely tired, and definitely fed up with this situation. I need someone to tell me that I will start to feel better when the chemo is done. I still have surgery and radiation to look forward to but I can' t imagine its anywhere near as bad as the last 5 months have been.

Will it get better? Honestly, yes and no. The surgery can knock you down for a while. Some pain, the drains, get the anesthesia out of your system. Stay hydrated!! Rads isn’t so bad, it’s just Going.There. Every.Day.

It will get better, maybe just not as fast as you’d like.

Chemo was the least difficult for me. I remember wanting to give up halfway but at that point, might as well finish? The surgeries and radiation left a worse impression on me. For a while, I would say radiation was the most difficult (I had 2 very uncommon side effects) and I had to end early (due to side effects). Surgery is its own thing so it's hard to compare.

Chemo left the least impression on me of all my treatments. I dont want to do it again and I was glad when it was done. It feels good not to be constantly in the bathroom. But I dont remember it that much now (I think it's been 9 months?).

What helped me is that my husband has a no nonsense attitude. "You already did it so keep going!" Sometimes, I need a good reminder of why I'm doing this without being coddled ;) You too will get through it all.
