Mammogram didn’t see the lump

I have a palpable lump in my right breast. The mammogram didn’t see it but the ultrasound did. Now I’m waiting to go for a biopsy. Does it happen often that the mammogram doesn’t catch itbut ultrasound does? What could it be?

    My first cancer was a palpable lump that was not detected on a mammogram but was on the ultrasound. It does happen but remember 80% of biopsies are negative. I know the waiting can drive you crazy. When is your biopsy? Was there any details on the ultrasound? Good Luck and let us know when you hear about the results.

    My biopsy is on Thursday. The only thing I saw on the ultrasound that there was some color around it but other than that no clue.

    Just came across this post, I am in similar situation. Nothing showed on mammogram, ultrasound said” small hypoechoic nodule with posterior shadow”

    I had core biopsy on Friday and will get results Thursday. My Breast Surgeon didn’t seem worried at all and said she would be very surprised if it was cancer.

    Can’t wait to get the results so I can move on.
