Tattoos with Vinnie
Iam scheduled for my Final procedure! Tattoos with Vinnie Myers! I will be traveling to Nola to see him, my question is, has anyone been to him, did you tip? Seeing him at a travel site increases the price of the tattoos from $800 to $1200. But I wondered if I tip on top of that amount? If so, what would be a reasonable amount? thank you ladies

I did them seven years ago at his shop. At that time they were $300 a side. I did not tip. $1200 is quite high, unless insurance pays some.

My impression is he's become in such high demand he can presumably justify the increased fees.
LBG10, have you been in touch with him during the pandemic? I called and left a message but never heard back. I heard he can have a significant wait list so wanted to try and get on that even though I may not be ready to have this done until closer to the end of the calendar year, if he has availability at that point.
Thanks for any input you might have!

yes, I’ve been in contact with him for over the past year as this is the 3rd time I’ve scheduled
Once bc I decided to have another surgery, the 2nd bc of the pandemic.
If you are wanting to see him at a travel location you will have to get on a list! You will also need to pay a deposit!
I actually found it very easy to get scheduled! They have been very accommodating!
Hope this answers your question

Thanks so much LBJ. I’m fortunate to be in the DC area so within a relatively short driving distance so that should make it easier but called one time right at the start of the pandemic just to get myself on whatever list there might be and didn’t hear back. It’s so helpful to get your feedback - I will call again! Thank tou

KeepingCalm,
Let me know how it goes. I plan on scheduling something with him after my exchange surgery whenever that will be. I wonder if the tatoos darken over time and does it help to go lighter. Has anyone taken pictures of their former nipples to try to match the color
-
Mine have lightened a tad, I think, but they still look amazing. Vinnie is a true artist and he really know what colors are going to work with your skin tone. You won’t be disappointed.

I saw Vinnie in October and had my nippples done. I let him chose the size and color. I really had no idea what would look best. He did any amazing job. My PS was very impressed. I did not tip him. Actually, didn't even occur to me. I'm sure you will me very pleased.

Hello, I had my implants done almost a year ago and am ready to have my nipple tattooing done next and have been researching Vinnie Myers. I did not know that it was possible to meet him anywhere other than his shop for the procedure until I read your post. Do you know how to find out what those locations are? I see that his shop near Baltimore is temporarily closed due to COVID.
Thanks.

Hi! I had my tattoos done by Vinnie in San Diego 9 months ago. I also let him pick the color and size. He did a beautiful job. Super pleased with them. It didn't even occur to me to tip him. I think I saw him more as a medical professional, rather than a regular tattoo artist. Good luck!!

I had my tattoo done at Vinnie's shop 6 years ago outside Baltimore. Mine was done by a younger man he was training, whose name I forget now, and I am very happy with it. I didn't tip. As Vinnie is the shop owner, no tip, butnot sure one would do a tip for a pseudo medical procedure anyway. My insurance covered some of the cost.

I had Vinnie do mine in San Diego in 2017. It cost $1200, and it never occurred to me to tip. I don't think it's customary. There was no waffling around about size or color; Vinnie knew what would work best. I don't think the color has faded over time. They look so real that any new doctor who examines me is taken aback.
-
I had mine done by the older guy on Vinnie 's team in 2016. I think his name was Paul. He has been with Vinnie for many years. I was very comfortable with him. I think that at least one of the team members travels with Vinnie. At that time they went to Northeast (maybe Boston), California and NOLA.

I had a a tattoo done years ago by the plastics guy. I am black and apparently pigments may take more than one time. I actually could feel my tattoo so I wasn't sure anyone else had sensation. I have considered doing it again, but I am wondering if the fading would happen again.

Jenny99, I had mine done by Vinnie this week in Birmingham. The trip originally had been scheduled for April, but had been postponed due to COVID. I cannot say enough about how wonderful they look. From all I read, and what I saw on his website, I expected them to look great. What I did not expect was how different and more “me" I feel when I look in the mirror. Amazing. Just cannot express it adequately.
He told us several places he travels to regularly- of course I can't recall all of them because I was distracted, but I'm sure his office would be happy to tell you. Very nice, interesting guy, and his beautiful daughter was with him. I believe she does tattoos now, too.

My physical therapist told me tattoo artists can receive grants in order to provide free/discounted nipple tattoos. Not sure if Vinnie and the gang apply for them, but it doesn't hurt to ask!
