Hi khoagland, There are a lot of good post about Tamoxifen and thickened uterine lining. It is important to get a baseline transvaginal ultrasound when you are able. Your MO will advise you not to worry unless you have bleeding. I think your Gyn will be more helpful with watching for any symptoms/side effects. Good luck to you.

Thank you. I'm trying to get in to see my gyn but she wont see me until June because of Corona. I can't understand why a doctor would put me on something that causes cancer.

It's like 1% chance for uterine cancer. It's rare. Unless you have terrible ses from Tamoxifen, benefits will outweigh the risk. I have a few medium fibroids in my uterus and have small amount of bleeding from time to time. Also sometimes minor cramps. Tamoxifen can irritate fibroids and can cause some bleeding. I'm 5.5 yrs post menopausal. My gyn ordered an ultrasound to get details of my uterus as a baseline when I first started. I would ask for a baseline.

I am taking Tamoxifen for 2 yrs and 3 months now after two lumpectomy (due to positive margin )+ radiation (DCIS still not clean).
I was bleeding like a normal period. (I am 56 now menopausal since 54) So I took some exam. Endometrial thickness was found as 7 mm. And then I had D & C. The result was;
'Poliferative Endometrium with Focal complex Hyperplasia without Atypia'
My Gyn doc recommend total hysterectomy (including ovaries, Fallopian tubes) It is underway developing endometrial cancer.
I was so worried when I started to take Tamoxifen with possible Uterus cancer but I decided to take it because I had high rate of recurrence due to the not clean margin even though I had radiation. I am so regretful that I didn't follow my 1st thought to have Mastectomy and no radiation and no med. Life is so cruel and funny sometimes, I had only 2% recurrence if I had Mastectomy and now I have a situation to see Endometrium cancer is coming to me everyday unless I have Hysterectomy. I cried a lot last night, I felt better and I am going to stay positive. I have found problem before it happen and I have two children already ... however, It is so hard to find peace in me. I feel like to cry again. I was ignorant I didn't think over seriously which Hormone med is better for menopausal woman. My mom had bone issue so I decided to go with Tamoxifen over Arimidex. I knew it is double saw to take any hormone med so I can not get away from side effect whatever I take. My radiation doctor's word still scares me ' when it come back it come back as invasive'.When I said that I do not want to take hormone med. I am trying to stay positive but it is quite difficult now so I am writing here.
