Benign or Malignant Sclerotic Lesion

Hi Everyone--

I was wondering if anyone could lend some insight to my situation.

I had a CT Scan and a Bone Scan on Monday just to make sure nothing spread before I start radiation.

CT scan came back good. Stated--no lytic or blastic bone lesions.

Bone scan stated that there was a small lesion on my posterior superior iliac spine. It stated--could represent benign or malignant disease.

I felt very scared today seeing that today. Anyone out there have something similar to this? Did it wind up being something? Nothing? Thoughts?

Thank you. My MO never called me today, and I'm an anxious mess today :(

I did have a lesion that they said could be benign or malignant in the L 4 area of my spine. I had a CT, and MRI and a PET scan. It was determined to be arthritis. Good luck!

Thank you for your response. I had quite a bit of arthritis show up, so that is interesting!

Biopsy in—benign! 🙌🏼 I think it’s a lot of confusing words that mean bone island. Wow, that really threw me for a loop. I feel grateful and think about the women who don’t get that news. I am much more educated about metastatic breast cancer now and hope with all my might they continue to improve those treatments!!! 💕

I am so very happy for you! I am hoping you are breathing a big sigh of relief. Did you have a bone biopsy? I am scheduled for one next Monday. Can you tell me what to expect?

Hi....yes I did. I had a CT guided bone biopsy. "Bone biopsy" sounds terrible, but it really isn't. At least it wasn't for me. I had procedural sedation....you're awake, but barely. I had an IV and they monitor you throughout the whole process. They kept me comfortable the whole time. I can't say it hurt really at all. Even afterward I was surprised at how fine I felt. I maybe took an ibuprofen the next day. Felt like a bruise for a day or so. That's it.

Now I will tell you....getting off the sedation was a little rough for me. I was very nauseous and out of it that night. But I was fine by the next morning. Good luck to you! Try not to get too anxious about the procedure. It really was not bad at all :)
