Port causing swelling in arm???

I've had my port for 3 years and in October, my arm was swollen and tingly on my port side. I was diagnosed with a superficial blood clot. The blood clot has since resolved, but my arm is still swollen and tingly/painful sometimes. I had an ultrasound yesterday and no new blood clot. Could it be my port? Anyone else experience something similar? It's not super swollen and is not getting worse, so my oncologist hasn't been concerned. Given how long it's been going on though, I really want answers and to fix it! Thanks!

    mommy Erin,

I am not a medical professional, but could it be lymphedema? I have mild lymphedema in one upper arm and sometimes have tingling and slight swelling. Have you brought up this possibility with your doctor? Take care

MommyErin, did he say you had thrombophlebitis? Was your port checked for infection? If it isn't lymphedema it might be cellulitis. Let your doctor know that it hasn't resolved. Did he put you on an antibiotic?

No infection. I've had repeat ultrasounds and all clear. It's very mild (like unless I point it out and you compare both arms, you absolutely would not see it), but still annoying me. She doesn't think it's lyphedema, but I will ask for a referral to a lymphedema specialist when the covid19 situation calms down a bit or if it gets worse. Thanks!
