How Did Your Choose Your Forum Name?
Comments
-
I love seeing all the names of my sisters (and brothers) on this forum and would love to hear how or why you chose your forum name.
I'll start: When I was a little girl, my mother used to call me Carol Sunshine. I was a pretty happy kid (not a pretty, happy kid!
). Anyway, I liked that name and would like to think that I am living up to that name so I chose it as my forum name. I added the 99 because I think back in 2007 when I joined, "Sunshine" was already taken. I'd rather be known as Carol Sunshine than Carol Gloomy Pants. haha
Your turn!

I am a birdwatcher and I worked as a hack site attendant in the 80's which means I camped out and released young peregrine falcons into the wild. One of the highlights of my life.
-
When I was a young Air Force spouse one of my husband's fellow flight crew members gave me the "call sign" SpecialK, my first name starts with K.
-
Mine is a childhood nickname too. This nickname was only used by one special person, and was derived in a rather obscure way from my real name; it makes sense if I explain it, but it's not obvious. I smile when I think of myself being called this nickname as a child - good memories.
And no, my real name (and my screen name) is not Bessie.

Easy! I was born and raised in the Bronx. I have lived in CA for over 30 years, but the Bronx holds my roots.

I'd love to live in the mountains, and MIA refers to a screen name I used to use at another site. MountainMia. I have a whole back story made up about the character Mountain Mia, which has little to do with my real life.

I identify as a dog mom, having only had 4 legged kids. When I was diagnosed last April, I was training for a half marathon. I run/train and then stop for awhile and then pick it back up.
I should change it to DogMomReader, considering how well my running is going lately.

JCS are my initials and I was a public librarian for 30 years before retiring in 2017. Actually is something I can remember easily!
-
mine is an anagram of a phrase i use commonly. the phrase is even one of my email addresses
I wish I had thought about it harder for this forum because I can't search for my own posts on a page as "moth" brings up all the times che'moth'erapy is mentioned
anyway, I do also think kinda suits me. i like moths & try to rescue any that accidentally get stuck in the house. but I admit they also always look a bit dazed & anxious & unsure where they're going and that feels like me a lot of the time

Mainly from Seinfeld, but SerenityNow was taken. SerenitySTAT addressed my urgent need for calmness.
It's still a work in progress.

childhood nickname plus state I live in; wasn't feeling very creative at the time!
-
I'd rather be fishing...thus 'Fishingal'!

Alice Bastable is a character in a couple of children's books by Edith Nesbit, written at the turn of the century (19th to 20th, I'll never get used to specifying!). Alice was a tough cookie, and even got in at least one fistfight for a good cause.
I love this topic. 💛💚💙💜♥️

it should be obvious - lol! All our other goldens have crossed the rainbow bridge. If there are no dogs in heaven, then when I die, I want to go where the dogs are.

Me too❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I picked mine trying to think/be positive in a time of darkness!
Live, love, and laugh is something I try to live by!

The start of my first and last name. And 81 was the year I was diagnosed with bone cancer in my leg, at age 13. I put it in for strength as I dealt with my new cancer here

Initials and the birth years of myself and my beautiful mother
What a great topic!

When I joined, I used a childhood nickname, Beesy, on a whim, based on my maiden name which ends in BEE. Little did I know that there was another very well-known BEESIE here (see above). As time went by, I bumped into Beesie and we have become friends in the process, which may not have happened had we not chosen the same name, spelled differently. When people started confusing us, since she had been here so long, I changed my "name" to Beesy_The_Other_One.
-
Hi, Beesy_The_Other_One!
Sunshine, this is a great thread!
-
These are great! Thank you for all the contributions - please keep them coming!
-
Sarah was my mother’s name. She died suddenly / unexpectedly in 2012. She was outgoing, strong, fun, faithful, tough. I think of her daily!
-
Dear Sunshine99,
Thanks again for starting this lovely topic. Clearly it is much appreciated.

Mine is the names of my two children, Angel and Summer.

I am from Colorado (duh!) and I have breast cancer (bc), Not as creative as some of you are!!!

Grammamuses is ----take your pick, Gram amuses or Gramma muses. I do both sometimes to the chagrin of my 12 grandchildren and sometimes I leave them in stitches. An d sometimes I muse and give them some advice. Or want to, but they are all pretty sensible so they don't need too much of it.
